I think it’s a hedge . Long CFD at GS to make a short neutral and hedged . The short is now just protecting the profits The hedge could also be Pmo specific or something like factor specific like say short Beta .
I could be wrong . The daily RNSs are I believe dynamic hedging . The position’s delta needs keeping in balance . Something like that. I could be totally wrong .

A few years ago on one of the Gkp boards on Advfn,I had a good friend who studied the Ghewar field, I believe it was discovered in the mid 1920s.
The Saudi government released initial figs in the 1930s, as you say analysts tried to estimate what was there, as the Saudis drilled the figures grew larger, after years of drilling it was known as the biggest field in the world .
The Saudis never released the size of the field, just that it had billions of barrels of the black stuff and it would last a hundred years.
But demand in the 50/60/70s is nothing like what is needed today , if last until the 2030s they weren’t far out , also they’ve made a few bob on the way ATB

Also if I remember correctly the Board of GKP put piece in the Sunday Times
Advising share holders not to except the deal .

I seen it once before with GKP, we had two on Saturday and one on a Sunday.
When one of the institutions were trying to get 4 directors of there choosing on to our
Board of directors, around 2011/2012.
