Taylor Wimpey has expressed confidence in its capital allocation strategy, stating it can consistently provide reliable dividends. Given the current share price, it appears to be an attractive bargain IMO. Furthermore, while not finalided, there are exciting proposals in the pipeline:
I would say the government is serious. What they should also do is tackle gazumping, it can be a heart-wrenching experience, which rarely happens in Scotland as in other parts of the UK.
From my point of view, it's reasonable to touch on politics provided it dosen't become too much of a rant for one's own ideologies. The government has made 'increasing housing' a central part of their agenda; they have something to prove. If they can get their act together, which I think they will, and engage with communities, they can tackle the challenges. It’s all about showing that they can navigate the planning maze and actually deliver on their promises. Instead of writing off well-intended vision, with constant negativity, let’s advocate for it to happen!
RE: New towns, new homes - playing long.5 Oct 2025 16:11
Dismissing new towns as a 'complete fantasy' really misses the mark. Sure, there are planning hurdles and public objections, but that's where political will comes into play. The government has made increasing housing a central part of their agenda; they have something to prove. If they can get their act together, which I think they will, and engage with communities, they can tackle these challenges. It’s all about showing that they can navigate the planning maze and actually deliver on their promises. We simply can not keep plodding on the treadmill of private landlord greed. Instead of writing off these developments, with constant negativity, let’s advocate for it to happen!

Norway is recognised for its commitment to preventing the spread of nuclear weapons. Additionally, it is not part of the European Union (EU), largely due to choices made during referendums. Nevertheless, when faced with isolation and a precarious global situation, alternative strategies often emerge as a plan B. It seems that Norway is now looking for security through collective alliances.
Since selling my GSK, I need to get some invome. Positioned as an income stock rather than a growth stock. TW has reaffirmed its commitment to a robust dividend policy, which is a key attraction for me at the moment.
I'm probably going to regret it yes, but you live and learn. I've made a decent profit - that's all I need to focus on. Other possibilities will now be checked out.
I’ve sold my entire holding. While I believe the sp will keep rising, ( estimste 18 - 22) the unstable situation in the U.S. under a poor-performing President is heavily on my mind. I've had a successful experience and ended on a positive note. Wishing everyone the best. I’ll probably return at some point.
After the beating Murdoch took, I don't think he'd be too keen to open that can of worms again. It is highly believed his cronies destroyed a huge amount of potential evidence. If any of it resurfaced, his empire would be in for another damaging episode. I can't imagine they'd want ITV, except perhaps to manipulate the public - which was traditional for his declining rags.
Our friends in Europe are taking the threat seriously. The UK government, IMO, is doing the right thing in defense spending. We cannot stop an aggressor like this without close collaboration:
