At long last communication and transparency are improving. Given the assets UJO are heavily invested in, the oil price outlook. the geographic position of the assets and the low overheads I feel we can all make money in the coming months.

BB1 - China is hardly an example of planned zero emissions as they are currently building more coalfired powerstations than the rest of the world put together. Course it could just be a 'workfare' project to keep their zillions employed and generate domestic consumption though has to be better than an arms race Armageddon.

OK thanks for putting me right with your explanation. Still beats me that Union Jack jumped so quickly after the Egdon convertible loan note agreement but it took till the following Tuesday onwards , which coincided with the Wressle update RNS, for Egdon SP to soar.

My dates referred to the Wressle update RNS (I should have referred to re-perforation prior to first oil and not first oil as I wrote) announcement on Monday 11 Jan, preceded by a rise of 41% on the previous Friday 8th Jan in UJO s.p and a fall in Egdon SP. The subsequent leap in share price at Egdon following this update coincided with a 8% fall in UJO RNS of 11Jan announcement. This made no sense.
I only know of the UJO loan to Egdon back in late November 2020 at a nice interest rate 11% . I certainly wasn't aware of Union Jack loaning money to Egdon in lieu of Egdon placement. Where on earth did you get that info? You refer to the loan coming from DB ? If so this was correct then this is all very unconventional. Your research must be different to mine as there was no public mention in the Egdon or UJ RNS of 11 January about such a loan?
These situations exactly reveal the lack of transparency and openness that I have been griping about. Us punters seem only to see half-truths. If UJO bailed out Egdon in January it certainly isn't obvious. Till you mentioned your 'fact' I certainly wasn't aware of it and I have been following this company since it started. I feel that this board was probably well suited to oil drilling 20 years ago but the operation has outstripped their PR capability. I used to think the cosy chats and informality was great but I am afraid things have moved on considerably and they come across as incompetent when it comes to handling shareholder communication. TIme was I remember when oil drilling was secret and drillers and operators were all sworn to secrecy the parlance in those days was 'its a tight hole' (in other words its all top secret) and shareholders were kept at arms length. Well it doesn't wash now and it just comes across as incompetence which I truly believe it isn't . This is not a private company fiefdom but a public one. Get young PR suits in and let DB get on with what he knows and does best which is drilling.

Odd that Wressle operator Egdon has gone down today and we've gone up. Hope its not the same old same old UJO leaks.
Seem to remember it happened once before with a big rise on Friday 8 Jan before announcement on Monday 11th that Wressle had started producing we went up 21% and the EGD share price changed little through the latter part of the week, virtually no change, ahead of the announcement on Monday and if anything dropped on Friday 8th January. Following the update RNS on Monday the Egdon EGD share price rocketed, by 40 percent during Monday 11 January and fell back Tues / Wed. UJO fell 8% on the news

BCheese , you might have added regards Wytch Farm that horizontal wells extend out under some of the most expensive real estate in the world, Sandbanks, Poole Bay .
All the activity is screened by trees and you wouldn't know even know it was there, in fact many people who lived in Poole had little if any awareness or interest in the drilling activity on their doorstep in the early days and most have little knowledge or interest in it now. This was initially using what is now old technology although it was one of the first if not the first to use horizontal drilling techniques in the UK. There are all sorts of conservation and environmental protection areas all around Poole Bay and Studland. Poole Harbour would become a disaster area to wild life and the nobs should any pollution have occurred. The pipeline runs from Wytch Farm to Fawley Southampton. Production has been the most prolific of any onshore field in Europe (up till now of course) This has been going on for over 50 years yet there has been nil pollution (that we know of that is) during that entire period. That was of course well before the environmentalists and green lobby took hold to delay and distort facts.

The facts are a well run onshore field presents none or a miniscule risk of pollution. Wytch Farm proves it.

Perhaps after all the doom mongers on this board will be proved wrong. We'll wait and see. Although early doors I see this consolidation as a very astute move. Especially if the serious money starts taking and interest.

Big fat offer from an oil major and we'll all be in clover. Big Oil need someone to do all the high profile 'donkey' work and put up defeat the political aggro before they waltz in and take over just like they all did in the 1970s in the North Sea. Biggest problem with the oil majors is after years of lack of drilling and the Saudis keeping the taps closed they have to have to have potential oil reserves on the back boiler despite what they say to the contrary to ensure their future.

My platform stopped trading at 10hr when the meeting started. Most puzzled that trading is continuing right up to consolidation, can't believe they were previous orders, as I would have thought that trading would be stopped. Any clues or is it just another UJO anomaly.

Its never wise to invest on AIM consolidation or no consolidation but then I am reckless. It may take a day or two to trade but IMO it could be 'wise' if only because the drop in SP ahead of the consolidation my prove to have discounted the 'usual' but not always, fall after consolidation. I'll certainly be in the market personally and just missed the boat before buying more before trading stopped.

Although Saudis etc can turn taps on if they want, they don't want and talk of drop in exploration leading to less future supplies once Covid crisis is past oil price should be stable. Good for us if this happens because market is driven by sentiment especially once world demand picks up.
