And thanks to the CEO, Mr Stefan Borson , for clarifying the company`s position regarding the offer , which they feel significantly undervalues the business. I`d like to wish Mr Borson and his team all the best in there pursuit of fair value from this episode
Well said that man... I suspect that most investors will be well satisfied with the retuns so far obtained, and would be willing to wait a bit longer to see the final outcome of this debacle.
Certainly, a figure that returns to the shareholders a figue that clears the £1.00p would be appreciated
So, how much is this cash cow worth?
I`d say it must be worth a fair bit more than is being offered sofar...
The word is that there are groups out there just looking for good value cash cows/shells to reverse into!!So, having wairted this long, I am willing to wait just a bit longer to see fair value for this asset..
Somewhere in the 80 - 120p per share ramge would do ok..
Anyone got any other ideas on this..?
PWC will not want to fight a battle with these boys.. and I suspect our big chiefs probably would like a quicker exit strategy than the courts have available. So , an out of court settlement would seem the best solution, unless our chief can see a nailed on result from the courts to, give something better... with a no blame clause added of coarse to avoid any egg on red faces.
Nothing like a good chat board for getting to know what people may be thinking.. Investors will probably need to be patient on this one but I sense that our boss man is out for his pound of flesh on this one, and I hope he gets it. I`d be interested in k knowing l of returns he is hoping for, either from the courts, or via an out of court arrangement
Hi Rustbucket.//.. Thanks for your correction re Highland Gold.. I cant see it named in the UK stock listings..so is it still trading?
I had been watching it for a while then it seemed to disappear from the radar..?
Do you know anything about that group??
I see they are now into delivering food for the CO-OP and this diversification can only be good for this business. They advertised it today on TV..
The main reason for the lowish share price, I thought , was that they underperformed market expectations regarding gold excavations. Coupled with the squable /power struggle for control of this business/ and associated shananegons. Throw into the mix inflation risks, and how much have they lost through forward sales of, as yet, unmined gold at discount rates to current market prices, and who knows?
Is it the case that they merged with Highland gold, to form a bigger unit, and if so should we be rexpecting some further economies of scale. If they can produce some credible numbers, they could see a moderate rise in coming months.. Who knows how much blame they will apportion to the Covid virus, etc.. if the numbers turn out to be a bit below par. It has already been mentioned that Iron ore prices have been high in recent times and I`d see that improving further as demand increases.
Then again , who knows what will happen to these industries as the drive to meet/curb carbon emissions takes hold.
Regardless of this, he seems determined to radically change Mcr`s transport system, and bring it all under public ownership, creating a system where combined bus and rail trips throughout Mcr would be streamlined, and a set of fares introduced that could slash travel costs for the general public? How do folk feel about this, regarding the future for First Group.. AB claims this system will be a copy of the London network..? Can they win the battle for control of the biggest slice of the cake.. and will it be a profitable business if ABs plan comes off.
Well, Andy Burnham has got back into power again, in the elections for Mayor of Gtr Mcr…
which always looked a likely outcome., given that the other candidates were not well known, and Mr B had done a reasonable job in many peoples eyes.
So he got up and spoke to the media about his future plans.. some think he might descide to enter politics at Westminster.. some have tipped him to challenge for the Labour party leadership
You are correct, I think.. my apologies.. I must have mis read it. Looks like those who have stuck with this business could well see a reasonable return for there patience. I hope so...
Looks like most of these points are covered in he latest accounts RNS I see that UBS have closed out … presumably not keen on the wait for the outcome of the hearings.. which might take place in the back end of 21-22 year.
I`d be interested to hear investor views on this `shell` regards future direction and potential reversal into a business with strong future prospects, which might require the expertise of the senior staff/directors of this business?
Regarding current valuations, I guess we are waiting now for progress on the PENDING court case with PWC ? I`d be surprised if it didn`t get the `settled out of court` treatment? Any thoughts on a possible success with this and the timescales we are looking at ?
I believe there is a meeting of the `shell` directors later this month? The final accounts are to be issue I think I read somewhere? Maybe the bosses can update us on any progress... there must be a few businesses looking for a partner with some spare cash to reverse into.. presumably they are looking to partner up with some insurance related business.. Any thoughts on that. Or might they simply pay out a special bonus to shareholders.. once the court action is completed. .. and close the shop?
Now that the major sports venues are about to make a long overdue comeback wouldn`t it be good to try to drum up some business (inside and outside these stadia).. with some promotional literature, etc... to attract some new business. with the backing of the management of the host venues of course, and maybe some advertising in the match programmes. Maybe a dozen or more riders well placed around these venues might not go amiss. Certainly there is scope for some good sale pitches at such events.
As for pog.. you're right .. they are a very good prospect going forward. certainly if the gold price can keep a good floor on the price as present. Might need to change the leadership at the top first though......
I reckon they are probably fairly valued. they might hit the £3.00 - 4.00 trading range if they can generate the current levels of revenue throughout the year … can they both take up the reigns. they need to establish a good reputation for delivery service, and maybe tie up with others to find a broader base to do business. If we get a good spell of weather this summer it could provide record crowds heading for our sea side resorts. It might be a good place to do some business.... Good luck to all...
I reckon that VOD needs a break.. Too many wingers out there killing the goose that could be laying the golden eggs.. Shorting is the worst kind of market abuse out there.
But VOD has other enemies.. the Chinese would appear to be the leaders in 5G technology race. but we suspect they are up to some nasty tricks... and Donald Trump is after a few scalps to boost his ratings pre election in the US.
I don`t really get the 5G game.. Is it a big deal.? Do we really need to compete with the Chinese?
Can we not create a conglomerate big enough to take on the Chinese and other global players.
I sometimes think we could do much better by developing products with a decent shelf life, and maybe getting more mileage from the stuff we are good at producing.
Creating a rat race where the politicians have us all running around like the proverbial blue assed fly. is a recipe for disaster, I my view. This whole global rat race needs a cooling off, before mankind flies over the cliff edge.
I see that Amerzon are taking on an extra 6000 staff. Is this to beef up there parcels` delivery section I wonder. I was interested to hear about the use of drones for delivery.. presumably this would be strictly? limited
Could be interesting tomorrow, particularly if the news is seen as favourable in the current climate.
And after more of tonights ` `late trades` coming in after the official bell. I am always suspicious about thes after hours shananagens by the `bookies`, but who knows??
On the BBC news tonight hey said that Capita was planning to close one third of the offices around the country, possibly involving the loss of about 1400 jobs I think.
This should lead to a saving in staff wages and office rental space, but it also suggests that the employment outlook is not great at the present time.. So growth prospects look weak at the present time, for the jobs market. Factor into that the Brexit farce, and unless some considerable ground is given, the outlook across the channel doesn't look great either.
We`ll need to see how things shape up next year, when the UK plc goes looking for other global partners to replace the `lost` eurozone. Can we strike some big deals with US other big players and like Japan? I think eventually some deal with the EU member states will be needed. Hopefully both sides will stop the brinkmanship and se that we need to get the EU-UK partnership back on track, with a more slimmed down beurocracy .. and they do need to get rid of some of the time wasters there.
I see that two brokers have come out today with `hold` recommendations. One has put a forward target of 40p on it, the other has left it open. It is one for the patient investor I think, certainly worth tucking away for a rainy day...in my opinion. Maybe they need some fresh new management on the executive to help stimulate some action. It will be interesting to see how the price reacts to any developments. It might be interesting tpo see how the market reacts to any new trading news that comes along, assuming the corona corona bug gets taken out...hat and the Brexit jojers are the main things that will drive us forward if the UK can get a grip of the export opportunities which should be out there, over the coming months. a and years
Provided this next RNS in the morning does not look too bad, I reckon this stock could be a good one for the long term holder.
I can certainly see a need for strong players in the recruitment area, with the fallout from the Brexit debacle looming large ahead.
