Mercedes Citan - Is this DMS for the working man ?
The new Citan will also offer radar and ultrasonic sensors as well as cameras capable of offering warnings or providing assistance to the driver by intervening with Active Lane Keeping Assist which provides steering interventions. ABS and ESP systems in the new generation of Citan models are also complemented with features such as Hill Start Assist, Crosswind Assist, the fatigue-warning system ATTENTION ASSIST and the Mercedes-Benz emergency call system as standard.
2030 - at the very least we could send out a tweet to say we completed 7,262,130,160 km last Friday morning. That would make a positive start to the week as Its a nice round number.
Terry - I do not think the impact on km is coming from Australia and New Zealand. It seems to be the km reported for the pm data that is down slightly, although I have had to average a few numbers recently when I failed to collect the data. I think its Europe. The data shows a significant increase in H2 for the last 2 years for the whole data. 10bn km still expected in June 2022
RE: Design Win for Global Japanese OEM21 Jul 2021 10:11
I thought the audio was saying that their system had developed significantly over the last couple of years. I assumed the system was originally steering wheel / torque sensors to which they had added eye tracking to make a much better system. It did sound like it was going into all Toyota cars.
CAE today announced that CAE UK plc has been awarded a contract by Boeing to provide Poseidon MRA1 training support services to the Royal Air Force (RAF).
"With advanced air mobility, we are on the cusp of a new era of aviation," Parent added. "Disruptive aerospace companies are building cutting edge aircraft and creating a new sector within the industry from the ground up. We are investing to position CAE to be one of the leaders in defining this emerging industry, supporting OEMs with the development, testing and certification of aircraft programs, simulation equipment and the delivery of training to the next generation of pilots and maintenance technicians. It is expected that close to 60,000 uniquely trained professional pilots will be needed to safely fly passengers and cargo in these electric Vertical Take-off and Landing vehicles, and CAE has the expertise to help make it happen."
Apologies if shared before. This article was published in January. Panasonic is not a company that seems to feature very much re DMS. These two paragraphs took my attention:
Augmented reality (AR) is used to place digital information on top of the real world. Mercedes-Benz's MBUX navigation system head-up display (HUD) on the 2021 Mercedes S-class does this with floating arrows to inform the driver where to turn. It’s a helpful feature that reduces the need to look away from the road while using navigation. Panasonic Automotive has gone a few steps further with its own AR HUD that it unveiled at the annual CES technology conference.
The HUD features eye tracking to project images correctly regardless of where the driver is looking. If it notices that the driver's head has turned, it adjusts the HUD elements being projected in less than 300 milliseconds to compensate.
- Does this mean that eye tracking is going to be required with any HUD to avoid highlighting things you have already seen ?
The Video shows the system in a Yukon which is made by GMC but the HUD is not available until 2024 !
Shallwe. What do you expect the DMS to do ? It can feed signals into other systems that the driver is not paying attention. These other systems could stop the vehicle but not the DMS.
As a result of the implementation of MAR, AIM Rule 21 was replaced by a requirement for AIM-listed companies to implement a share dealing policy which complies with a set of minimum requirements. The definition of a close period (redefined as a ‘closed period’) was also amended to be the 30 days prior to the release of financial results. The restrictions on dealing while in possession of unpublished price sensitive information remain.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned reaching 7bn km. Last year on the 29th June we had completed 4.5bn km. Its now 7bn. By July 2022 we should achieve 10bn ( if we keep going at the same rate)
