Sentiment is cyclical and SP is at a low ebb at present. BP is still the same energy-producing company it was 10, 5 and 2 years ago, nothing has changed overall. Mad dash eco policies a thing of the past. Yes it's disappointing to see the SP tank but there will be a realisation of value here. IMO.

BP is selling a product that society needs to function. Crude prices always fluctuate but given the previous historic lows BP has always been able to return value to its investors, nothing has changed. The stated objectives of the company to emphasise its focus on the more traditional energy sector is just a reaffirmation of business as usual whatever the fluctuations are in the world economy.

There's no quick fix to turn around the mindset that BP was deleveraging away from its core business in favour of less proven profitable sectors within renewables. Given BP has publicly stated its about-turn sentiment will realign favourably and BP can again be compared as an investment akin to say Exxon - BP has a lot of catching up - SP should have much further to go.

It strikes me as a bit of a coincidence that crude oil prices appear to be artificially at lower price levels despite high drawdowns and world consumption levels where you would expect them - all at the same time the US is trying its hardest to replenish its depleted strategic oil reserves.

The market is not very efficient in pricing assets with a lot of volatility in both directions, but its the best we have. The fundamentals are all there for BP as an undervalued asset. There will be a SP recovery in the fullness of time, once all the noise has cleared over the apparent oversupply and green revolution concerns. IMO.

BP is cash-generative. Brent and WI are trading well above $70, and the unit price for gas is at near record highs. The world economy has NOT slipped into recession, instead big industrial nations are stimulating their economies at the risk of higher inflation. The signs are very favorable for the O&G companies, so why has BP missed the benefits?

Yes, it's all about timing, and fingers crossed that the market makers have got their valuations wrong and the SP will increase from these low levels. Encouragingly Nymex and Brent have been trading over $70 for nearly 2 weeks which is a strong positive.

Crude prices are on the up, markets generally higher, BP struggling with 0.2% SP increase, unloved.

I concur fully with your overall sentiment towards the S.P. You mention potential risks associated with the budget, BP has pricing power throughout its businesses which one way or another would be able to absorb reasonable tax increases.

The refocus on core business, share buyback, and future visibility over the necessity of fossil fuels going forward places BP in the commodities sector very advantageously. IMO.

There does appear to be some correlation with the Divi payment. FTSE down 0.5% but BP down twice as much. Nymex oils and gas are on a up. Sentiment towards SP is at a low by the MM.

Crude prices are off their lows, BP focusing more on its traditional markets, share buyback in full swing. There is IMO no premium in the current low SP to reflect even a reasonable valuation of this stock. SP should see meaningful gains from here.

Kier will benefit from increased government commitments on infrastructure and allied spending. This will secure existing financial forecasts and enhance future profitability, demonstrating Kier's operational performance efficiency. The SP does not reflect the enhanced element of its current and future performance. IMO.

Whichever Party wins the election in 4 weeks, Kier's position within the Industry is well-placed to continue its substantial wins of new projects and improve its share price value. Next month's trading statement should further boost the S.P.

IMO The only negative for the SP is a general market downturn, God forbid, so assuming no such calamity takes place the SP should easily hit £2 just to be in parity with other companies in the sector. Labour will surely keep the status quo reinforcing the prospects of Kier. Deep blue skies ahead!

It appears the SP has been ' set/ agreed? ' by the market makers of the shares, clearly, to my way of thinking, the MM are waiting for news on the reinstatement of dividends and trading figures before deciding which side of 130 the SP should be. I think the SP will be substantially higher from these levels, barring any market correction going forward.

Only a few years ago the talk was about bankruptcy due to unsustainable levels of debt and higher interest rates than now due to the perceived risk. How times have changed? Given the improvements to the financial health of the Kier the SP should be substantially higher than the broker target of 210p.

It's been a rough ride the last few years but I feel the end of the tunnel is upon us!

So 5% of their holding sold, didn't see the volume go through, and nor do I understand why on this news the SP goes up.

Given the soon announcement on interim and full dividend payments and the healthy secured order book for 2024 and beyond, I'm personally at a loss as to why the SP continues to lag. Is the business model for profitable work so different from its peers?

With the imminent announcement of Interim and Full Dividends, you would've expected an upward tendency rather than this sideways downward direction. I suspect the Market Makers in the S.P. are hedging their own bets and not willing to risk bidding up the S.P. just in case - so the flip side of this is the announcement of better-than-expected news which would result in a substantial move upwards. IMO.
