Was almost like a coincidence. Have HMG let the cat out of the bag and shown that they will insist that the BOE and FCA switch divis on and off like a night workers under garments in the very near future to suit differing policies?

People taking a 0.25 as a quarterly now might just find that it’s actually a bi-annually/annually or even worse.

EXPECT THE WORST and you never really seem to be pleasantly surprised here, See y’all’s next quarter for more back door communism and very much the same debates as the last 15 years since the great purge. I will start 1 of the old favourites here. .... . ... Buybacks are the correct decision IMHO.. .. ... :)

Arguments and perspectives on this thread as there were last year. Most of it nonsense and all of it incorrect. The SP is also just as boring and predictable. Here’s hoping a big Chinese bank comes in and buys us out as that’s the only thing going to save us all.

My opinion is that out of all the green companies involved in the green bubble, this is one of the few realistically priced and when the penny drops and the bubble pops this will be ideally placed to take full advantage of the planning consent, turn to profit Est 2022 and the growth spell from Japan, France and beyond. I’m gutted at the very low SP but am positive for the medium term. Stay away from the pipe dream green ITM machine, this is where the green realists hang out. Imho

So here’s a divi. Strange times.

EPS. Why because AHO had a bonus with a target share price of 63p remember. He got it for about 2 weeks tops. Got paid out for it. Share price plummeted ever since. This BOD may or may not be useless but their hands are definitely being tied by HMG, BOE and the FCA. until they let go this share will never be allowed to reach its full potential. Back down to the 20s we go. SACK THE BOD.

If anything is certain it’s that LLOY always tops Barc on the negatives and never wins on a positive.. With this in mind my guess is....

Profits reduced by 3/4 and divi unsustainable. However on a positive more shares released to the market due to employees contractual obligations and a target of 63p will give our BOD huge payouts in the future to reward their under performing work ethic.

IMHO.

On my position here. Been invested since the great purge held on for dear life, extremely pi55ed off with the behaviour of the bod and AHO as well as HMG,BOE and FCA all sticking their noses into businesses or at least parts of that they have no right whatsoever in a “free market” to hold any sort of influence. Hence my always commenting on back door communism. Don’t wait for it to arrive for it will not announce itself, it is already here. This SP would be and should be at least a quid by now if it were not for those determining the direction and policies of a so called “free market”. Watch what rules you play by because tomorrow you may find the goal post shifting. Mr Rishi will see to that in absolutely positive.

What have the media, political and judicial systems done in the past to infuse trust into those they govern? Awarded themselves a pay rise and high praise perhaps for a job not well done. The only thing that would achieve this is a huge rebalance of structure. Those that can stay at home MUST and with petrol savings etc get a reduced pay rise or none at all. Those who work on the frontline be that hospital wards or manufacturing shop floor deserve recognition for what they actually sacrifice. They may not be the intellectual type, but they are often the most honest hard working type who have been held in low regard for far too long. The rebuilding of this nation depends on these people. If politicians and high rollers award excessive this year it could finally let in the red bear support. Those with the money must remember they reap what they sow.

Has anyone read the Financial Times report on why Rishi should consider Excess Profit Duty and has anyone considered its impact on the PI and the business itself. Will this have an effect of profits actually being disguised lower as to ease the companies tax burden but also grow the business through internal investments to counter the excess profits tax. Will this stop companies announcing dividends or would it intact have the counter intuitive move of paying bigger dividends so as not to give it all to HMR and ensuring the tax burden falls on the PI?

Thoughts much appreciated on this as I see this policy coming a reality.

This is how it will unravel IMHO
1. LLOY announce return of divis in the next, possibly nexter or even the nextier next one and so on. RESULT: SP stays low and possibly lower still.
2. LLOY announce return of divi and buyback. RESULT: Low SP due to the acceptance of buybacks and wether it would be good for business coupled with a low divi price so as rob not infuse the SP to climb to muchvwhilst buyback is in motion.
3 LLOY announces a big divi, huge buyback scheme. RESULT: Low SP fear the company can’t truly afford this business decision along with the buyback will come an issuance of yet even more shares to the market for their honest hard working staff. As well as fear of covid business collapse and recession.

No matter how you look at this, if your looking for proper returns befitting of an aim company go elsewhere. If you are after security and have an extremely long term ambition for your money Chuck it into the stables for feeding the dead donkey for another 20yrs. Make hay now for when the sun shines 2041

Does not suit the narrative and won’t make big pharma a profit or cost the tax payer huge sums so for that reason I’m out.
