I lost a complete new year night after a few too many Black Velvets! Was last seen sitting at a purloined pub table in the middle of the road with traffic carefully passing. Peronaly, I have no memory of that....

You have laid out the dilemma that drives the traders to buy/sell and chase rainbows in an effort to 'beat the market'! It is a gamblers way of dealing with things, they will always tell you of their highs, but never tell you where they lost.

I, on the other hand, am an investor. I look for interesting companies with good prospects to invest in. I look at their product, the market they are in, their management etc. etc. I take a view and either invest or not. I leave my investment in long enough for germination to take place, along with it's subsequent growth.

All else is white noise - my 1m+ shares at a free carry are staying until well past the first pour of Havieron gold. I'll add too, as and when iget some free cash (at whatever the market price is at the time).

Releasing a random virus is a stupid thing to do, it will destroy your own people too. Besides it's all a bit far fetched, to set up and develop in secrecy a virulent virus to attack your enemies with will likely backfire if your antidote is not effective.

In reality there are all sorts of nasty poisons that can be use for a much better targeted attack. Polluting watercourses with something off the shelf is much cheaper, easier and safer (for your own people).

So these theories over releasing viruses are the daftest conspiracy theories ever!

Simple answer @Tommy. Suffering from the same (or very similar) 'it's all about me' affliction that has been amply demonstrated by a well know former leader of a large country!

This is something RM alluded to a while back. We have hot the timing pretty much bang on.
Phase 2 was done early on (massive foresight from our BOD to pivot from COPD to Covid so early on).
The Home trial has completed with results awaited (It took time to fill for various reasons, but a perfect illustration of the difficulty in getting 'bums on seats' when the infection rate was falling).
Our worldwide phase 3 is underway, with the current wave passing through we should be able to get this through.
We are on ACTIV-2 in the US which will have no problem if filling the initial 220, plus whatever will be needed as they transition us to a phase3.

Data is king here, this we will have in short order.

Betterlife have a problem in how to get any traction. There only a handful of cases in Australia / new Zealand, so they have to go to other territories, they may have the best product ever - but their ability to gain the data to prove this is limited.

The starting gun fired long ago, we are charging down the home straight. Betterlife have only just left the starting gate. This is where we have a commercial advantage - for any similar drug to succeed they are going to have to move up the field at one hell of an impressive rate!

Cracking gas at high temperatures to recover hydrogen while creating CO2 is beyond daft. The whole idea it to reduce harmful gasses, not play with them more!

The Offshore wind farm trial in the North Sea is the future, excess power from the wind turbines (means they can keep them all going rather than 'feather' some in high winds or low demand). They run an offshore desalination plant and use electrolysis to produce hydrogen with the byproduct being oxygen. Clean, green, and very efficient.

On the whole, I am with you on this @Bamps, but.....

I agree Hydrogen is the better fuel, particularly for HGV's and longer distanced travel needs. However, this could well be the new VHS vs Betamax as was for video tapes (showing my age, now). Betamax was thought of as the better system by the purists, but was a little late in getting to market. VHS won over with the sheer weight of numbers.

By the time Hydrogen production is large enough to fuel the transport infrastructure, there will will already be a critical number of EVs and a well developed charging system in place. Hydrogen vehicles may well remain the province of HGVs, larger vans and other longer distance stuff.

But all will be prodigious users of copper (hydrogen fuel cells create electricity to provide motive force).

That's the point @Ongold. With wireless charging your car won't nee plugging in. Your parking at work will have wireless charging, as will municipal car parks, even the road you park on. Just drive, park and go!

Longer journeys may need a higher capacity plug in for 30 - 40 mins at a service station enroute.

I'm looking for long term usage and where investment opportunities crop up.

Wireless charging is starting to be developed. This will be the long term solution - on road parking in your street, at work, at the supermarket, potentially can all feed constant top ups when parked. You'll just be able to simply use your car.

There's more options, now, than nuclear power stations.

Wind power is now providing a large proportion of our energy. More and more houses have solar panels along with some pretty impressive large solar arrays being installed.

Battery technology has come on vastly in the last 10 years and there are several installations that charge up using solar to distribute at night. Batteries can be chemical (Li-iron etc as in cars) or physical (pumping water to an up hill reservoir for instant hydro power when needed). There is the new project in the North Sea where excess windpower is used to produce hydrogen. Tidal power is increasingly being looked at.....

The whole arena of green power is worthy of looking at for the next 10 years or so, but open your mind from the nuclear only thinking!

One thing is for sure, copper copper copper.

Yup, they have some good assets, some great assets too, but their capex needed over the next few years leaves little room for needless investments.

IMO (and have said before) the takeover target is NCM, not us.
