The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
more news is likely to break over the weekend. Investors recognize this and don't want to miss out on the opportunity should news come.... Hence the fairly large buys we have seen this morning.... I can only see larger and more frequent buys coming this afternoon. I think Nov will be a good month for MEC
I'm not 100% sure in truth.... There has been no replacement named to date, so Monty maybe the man execute the plan and it wouldn't surprise me if he stopped on after Jan, in his existing role or some-other role, as he knows the business better than anyone..... The II's just want things to happen with or without Monty and it looks like things are starting to take shape. Few bidders now please :)
http://www.na24.no/article3020214.ece nice to see... "Several media companies are considering to bid." monty values it at around €400,000.00 Think i'd be happy with that..... Completely wipe out all the debt with money spare.
I just a matter of sit and wait now unfortunately.... When news arrives the SP will really shift... The MM's know this and are filling up with stock at these levels to sell on later. Ironically Mec have never been good at news regarding their business situation......
Exactly the MM's have tried the high and now trying the low in an attempt to weed out more shares from the weaker holders. I think they are also talking advantage of the lack of news..... The new CEO will be announced shortly so that will give the SP a boost and the final year results will be good reading...... A break-up is my preferred option however even without any breakup we should be well above £3 come xmas.
Basically a break up will be the best scenario, mecom runs many different operations in multiple countries. Selling individual parts of the to the highest bidders is the best way to extract value... In this case the sum of parts, is worth more than the whole.... Many of the II's are sitting on heavy losses and are becoming impatient waiting for the SP to return.... Hence the reason they have forced out DM.... So breaking up the business is the one way of getting their money back sooner rather than later. Don't worry if a breakup did happen, it's a good thing. Should see at least £6
Polaris Media, according to the newspaper have said they are willing to pay 180-190 million euro. However i think they are more likely to get in €220+ range. I think conversations must be going on, then if they do consider the offer we will start to see the plan unfold.... Never-mind bonfire night, this has fireworks written all over it! Once this is lit, it's going up faster than a typhoon rocket
something is going to happen very soon in IMHO... We just need news..... The MM's are playing games, trying to get cheap stock.
Polaris buys Edda Media? Per Axel Koch, CEO of Polaris Media. New round may be going on in the never resting fusion process seems to progress in the media of Norway. According to Dagens Næringsliv the media group Polaris Media, with the dominance of the Mid-Norway, have contacted the international media group Mecom, with the intent to buy Edda Media. Polaris Media will follow the DN to be willing to pay about 1.5 billion dollars for Edda Media. But Polaris CEO Per Axel Koch will neither confirm nor deny speculation. Adresseavisen and Harstad Tidende Group is part of Polaris Media, while Edda Media, with its 12 daily newspapers, including the owner Drammen Tidende, Fredrikstad Blad, Tønsberg Blad Varden. Edda Media has centralized printing operations in Stokke and Haugesund. Polaris has a number of large newspaper printing plants, the largest located in Heimdal, which is a completely new and modern printing.
In think the IMS was fairly positive after reading it a couple of times. Makes no difference to me at the moment, one thing for sure is this is going places... Just a matter of waiting for the plan to unfold... Monty leaves in Jan so its not long to wait and the final year results will trigger the long awaited jump. There is still some stake building in the background and we could get news any day. Obviously I'm hoping for a breakup to be on the cards but either way we will get our reward sooner or later :)
It's always your call, however the next few months are going to be very interesting, they will appoint a new chairman and reveal their plans... Plus the next quarter is the most profitable one for the business, and hopefully should see a slight rise in advertising so the final year results will make for some good reading with a improved ebitda. So I'd expect the SP to be well above and beyond £3 on that alone. Good luck with whatever u choose to do.
Lots has happen in the last year....to much to mention... I've been here pre RI. Recently the II have been applying pressure as they feel the current SP is to low and as a result have ousted the chairman... They are very heavily invested here and have a SP average way above your personal average.... They obviously have a strategy and It is a strong possibility they will break up the company and sell off the component parts to release value quickly. If that was to happen the SP will be at least £6-7.
Doesn't really tell us a great deal, apart from they now have a steady ship... Was hoping there was going to be an announcement about the new CEO. final yr results should be good.
disappointing week, hopefully tm will bring good news. GL all see u in the morning
thats exact;y what they want you to do is SELL.... hence the reason the MM's drive it down. They tried the high ground for profit takers, then tried the low to weed out the uncertain..... hold firm my friend.... the only way this is going is up. and when it happens it will be huge. :)
after no volume all week... lol, somebody wants a hell of alot of these shares ;)
trying to walk this down to scare people into selling... hold firm.
MM's playing bingo again. The MM's must know people are sitting tight until the news on the 22nd.....
both way off.... not to worry mec usually starts rising 2 weeks before the interims.. should see £3+ before the 22nd
