Sheltie. You're correct. Mr Market can be corrupt and manipulative, over react and sometimes knee jerk but he was right with Boo Hoo and a lot of recent 'sexy' IPOs. During lockdown there were a lot of private investors who were still earning good money with no holidays or other luxuries to spend it on. DTs limited stock liquidity and its sexiness have made it rife for manipulation.

EuropaEuropa, so if I read this correctly they have moved the goal posts from a 30 day average of the SP on the month before the first anniversary which would be circa £4.50, not a million miles short of the maximum. I'm guessing a twelve month average smashes the £5 maximum vest. It does say all major investors were consulted, but we know who two of those are.

Most of my stocks hit the skids at about the time the interest rate was announced. Not saying that's why DT has fallen but do you think that prices have fallen because the rise is 'only' 0.5% or is there another reason?

Guess we're going to test Support 1 grrrrr, and all because Charles said it looked steady for now! This is a gift to all shorts everywhere.

Friday before August Bank Holiday price actually rose 12p to 524.6p. Remember those far off days? Lets hope it'll do the same today. 12p up that is though 524 would be good :-)

When the pound gets parity with the dollar it'll be a steal even at £12 and then in two years time when the pound gets back to its previous level the buyer will be in profit big time.

I was guaranteed £4 by close of week on this board this week. Honestly, can't trust anybody.

Agreed Sheltie, and I too tabled the possibility of no deal. We all know what reaction that produced. Having said that here is an SP alert. I took a nibble at £3.51 so, given my talent for picking peaks there is a very real possibility of £3 by days end. :-)

In a nutshell, its illegal to do what you describe in the US but so poorly regulated over here that they sit in basements and short the sh*t out of UK stock. The frustration for me is the collusion of the lazy British press who are complicit. The Telegraph ran a story about Shadowfall shorting DT months after they'd closed their position but made it sound like they were still doing it. Not to help Shadowfall but to help all the invisible shorters who hadn't closed their books.

As our esteemed new board member pointed out today and many have before him, the fact that there are no shorts registered above 0.5% is a trick played by hyenas and hedge funds who hunt in packs using algorithms to make multiple small trades 'under the radar'.
However I think in this case it was just a knee jerk reaction to the inflation figures in the US and the implication for global interest rates and the weakness of the pound. No doubt the shorts bought the dip to make their day trade profits, ironically lifting the sp.

In fact, most publicly traded cybersecurity companies are way down from their highs last summer and, if anything, are dramatically undervalued, Stiennon says.

"I don't think Thoma Bravo is backing off of Darktrace because of valuations," he says. "I think strategically there is not a clear market for the AI-enhanced threat hunting that Darktrace touts. The market is pretty much equal to Darktrace's revenue today."
