Wyndrum, I really hope you are correct. My concern is that even if inflation falls to zero this time next year overheads will still be higher than this year and remain so. The luxury sector is not insulated from what is to come. Most if not all purchases are discretionary and the strategy appears to be win customers from the opposition until the market expands. The European expansion is risky as its in markets that, unlike the US, they have little experience of and in my view has less potential for growth. They haven't reported specifically on European sales yet as its in its infancy but it needs monitoring.

Thanks Sheltie. Reading the article you could have got the impression that the market as a whole has fallen 40% in the last year as they quote Amazon, Next etc. However having checked, FTSE100 is flat over twelve months and FTSE250 down 20%.
DT is down 40%. The takeaway for me is the amount of money being withdrawn from funds by 'private investors' and the effect its having. Also to counter the inevitable overoptimistic and simplistic "what if" scenarios already put forward there is the equally simplistic and intangible "what if" scenario offered in the article about interest rates and taxes rising higher than priced in at present.

So EBITDA up 5m
Finance Costs up 3m
Depreciation up 2m
Revenue forecast up 50m
Basically running faster to stand still.

Looks like the new house brokers Jeffreys tipped their clients re results after initial reaction is flat.
WOSG consistently return forecast or above forecast numbers yet either world events or economic events have not been helpful. Perhaps Jeffreys oversold this one. There is another budget next week which will be a defining moment for many stocks. My only concern is overheads, they aren't immune.

It depends whether you treat this as a day trading share or an investment.

I know broker ratings can be spectacularly wrong but at least these aren't house brokers.

From memory I think they also moved the goalposts on how shares were awarded because Charles and his chums had ramped the price so high last year it distorted the moving average.

There are five months before we enter Q2 and 7 months before Q3 so there is plenty of room for rises. Seeing as how bad BoE and others have been at forecasting inflation for the last couple of years I'd say we are going to be in recession a lot longer than they think. Higher interest rates will dampen house prices and non essential purchases but fuel, energy and food inflation is doing its best to dampen all spending.

See Poppy and Kathy got awarded some shares yesterday. RNS slid out after close of trade which smells of avoidance to me.

My take on it is we won't ever know whether or not DT was or is in any way involved. Its more a PR exercise for HM Govt than any individual company and the (inflated) money figures quoted are likely to be extrapolated from time spent and expenses paid to government functionaries and MOD personnel rather than commissioning companies to work specifically on a project.
