Pearls, my opinion is that Thoma Bravo shorted this in plain sight using third party brokers and Form 8.5 to make a tidy little sum in the same way it has been manipulated behind the scenes since it floated. Of course they keep their options open, they can come back and do it again if the SP ever looks north of 4.50. The fact is this stock is fairly priced. Potential and what ifs may count in cash rich times but not when we're heading into a recession, and no, the war is not a benefit.

Stupmy, CR is never right. There is no silver bullet here. His reality never sees a downside and even at £3.50 there is as much a chance of £2.75 as of £ 4.25. Last week he was shouting £10+++ and saying that was as cheap as chips. Obvs hasn't bought chips recently :)

This is yet another example of how to manipulate a weak stock. TB will make a fortune from shorting the stock in plain sight along with all the hyenas. Sheltie and I did warn repeatedly about this not being a one way bet as the resident ramper tried to convince everyone it was. Oh well, this will decline back to mid 3s until after Christmas. ATB.

Clued. As to ML I guess they are trying to prove he knowingly inflated sales and revenue by selling fictitious services to friendly customers and then hid it fraudulently. Certainly the FD did time for that.
As to Mr Market in general, he always over reacts, as do investors. In the good times they get over enthusiastic, in the tough times, like now, they tend to go the other way. In general it feels like this hasn't bottomed out but then maybe I'm being over pessimistic. If you have read Danny Kahneman's Thinking Fast and Slow you'll know that people get less satisfaction from winning an amount than they feel remorse about loosing the same amount and are more willing to gamble on long odds trying to regain a loss than protecting a win. Hence so many of us hate to cut our losses and end up losing more.
Roll on results tomorrow and £8 bid from TB... or not. ATB

If the govt are using the likes of DT for cyber security how would they feel if it potentially fell into foreign control? Will they block a takeover or not care?

I guess its what sort of share scheme it is. Often employees pay into a fund and after a certain time can choose to buy at a discount or not. Would be a smart play to convert to shares if vested at a healthy discount even if no bid.

If only I could do the same thing for my wife!

They've been selling used for years. In store and online. Can only sell discontinued Rolex models but its a good revenue stream. Not sure if this is a good buying opportunity at the moment. A lot of froth has been knocked off the price. Maybe Liz will inadvertently boost retail with tax cuts.

Clued, I think you can guess the direction it took. There was no bad language and just the observation on my part about the lack of objectivity and self serving narcism of flooding the the board with fantasy scenarios. Finding twenty different ways to arrive at the conclusion that there will be a bid and it will be £10, £12, £15 is entertaining but not grounded in reality. Lets see...

I guess it depends whether TB thinks the numbers will be better than expected. If so they may go for Wednesday but I agree will probably be after the numbers announced, which by the way have already been factored into the current SP.

They are doing this on an almost daily basis. Saw yesterday they were closing short and long positions and opening new ones. I guess thats the nature of hedging.

Seaking Hope you bought in on the way down else you had the chance to make money. The mms will have bailed long ago and taken their losses. I really hope you are right about this going for a home run but we'll see in the next twelve days. It'll be a long slow decline of no bid materialises. The results are already factored in and if you haven't noticed the economy is going in the wrong direction. But hey, what do I know?
