The final sentence in the RNS commentary reads 'The total amount sold represents less than 10% of Ms Eagan's total vested and unvested holding.' Unlike some, this piques my curiosity. So how much does it represent exactly? 9.41% is the answer. I'd say that was out of the ordinary, especially as she's part of a board that recently were in negotiations to sell the company for - if you believe one person £8+++! Either she needed over £4m in a hurry or the numbers talked about - if indeed they ever were, didn't come close to that. Also the 'less than 10%' figure lumps in shares she doesn't yet own. If you thought the SP was going to be £5+ in the near future (up 37%) wouldn't you hold on for a tidy gain?

Ok Charles, so you ducked the answer even though you are pushing peace on other boards. Diplomatic solution with heavy reparations would be ideal. I feel this is a very long way off. Hope I'm wrong for many reasons.

Lending, thanks for your usual measured contribution. Like you I feel that there is potential in DT but with the nagging doubt that all isn't quite what it seems. I think it is telling that the employee trust fund is the fourth largest shareholder (Angela Bacares being third). That's a lot of rewards!

There was speculation via a link earlier in the week about the end of the war. Without wishing to start a discussion with all sorts of madcap theories being bandied about it goes without saying that an end to hostilities would help all shares, not just DTs. My view is that this could be a WW1 style grind to a halt as Putin doesn't look like he'll give up and the allies will keep supplying defensive weapons for as long as it takes. I feel for the Ukrainians having the prospect of a bitter winter without heat but I guess that is part of the Russian offensive. I'm not sure how effective the sanctions against Russia we have in place are but it feels like we ought to double down and really hurt the regime. At some point peace will break out and things will improve. I wonder whether Europe will continue to take Russian gas when it does.

For Newbies and any other flys on the wall like me who may not be capable of reading the RNS Equiniti Trust (Jersey) Limited as trustee of the Darktrace Employee Benefit Trust added 125100 shares last Friday. These will be held for employees and cover future financial obligations. The Benefit Trust holds over 5% of all shares in DT as employee incentives. In the grand scheme of things this is not a big deal as far as volume is concerned. The RNS was to fulfil a legal obligation to notify when a threshold had been crossed.

Sheltie - It gets to me when people say 'concentrate on Dark' and 'stop name calling' when what they mean is 'stop exposing my rampant ramps as baseless drivel' and 'its OK for me to have a go but don't do it to me or I'll delete you'. People who number fighter pilots and Generals in their family would know how imaginative and disciplined you have to be to serve in the forces. I think the consensus is that they didn't want to pay much more than 590 valuing the company at £4.4bn. The directors and stakeholders thought the company was worth more.

I thought then and still think the first line was deeply offensive to someone who has served their country but this post was left without comment.

Most of us don't comment here every day unless there is some value to add to the discussion or some humour. You take a different approach and by the sound of it are the boss of this board, determining what gets deleted. Good to know.

Agreed wyndrum, this stock has tended to rise quite quickly when it gets a fair wind behind it. Not sure if its a liquidity issue, probably not but sentiment may be that its oversold even at this level.

Of course its all based on the hope that the Fed won't have to raise rates so aggressively in future. As the great man would say, lets see.
