Jaglith its not the screens that will be the issue, it will be the material.

The screens juat vibrate and rely on gravity for material separation.

The physics i was talking about is aspect ratio of the particles being fed into the screen. The aperture cutoff is based.on assumption that all particles are spherical. Obviously this is never the case and depending on the ore and the type of mill being used will greatly impact the shape and morphology of the material being screened. You want nice consistent spherical particles if possible for consistency in cutoff. If you have needle shaped material then these can obviously act like smaller particles and pass through the screen solely based on their orientation. This creates the issues as you will get needle rod like ore passing through which will behave differently in the flotation as that process is dependent on Stokes Law

The aperture determines the psd of the material that passes. For materials that are not very sensitive to fracture they operate based on basic physics principles so not a lot can go wrong with them unless they have a hole in. So stop fear mongering

1. They are from an academic institution. A technology institution no less. They rely heavily on funding on grants from people like Gates, EU etc etc

2. When they dont get their funding they lose their role and research positions...so are they likely to push ann agenda that secures additional funding in the future???

Im not saying the article is not true, im just questioning the validity and if any conflicts of interests are present that may create bias
