67Sam, no I don’t live in Cornwall but in a very scenic part of the coast which is spoilt by holiday homes, in the winter when they are not here it’s like a ghost town.

Skier1, where I live holiday homes are a curse and I hope they do raise taxes,they are a blight on the housing supply, some people find it difficult to find one home to buy while these greedy bastards often have several. I hope they are taxed to the hilt. The Welsh had the right idea when they started their revenge!

Anthony, yes, people will have less money to spend and this will create a downward spiral in the economy, redundancies, companies folding , repossessions, it has been predicted for a while. An unprecedented rise in house prices usually ends in economic disaster. I have reduced my spending and so will many others, not eating out so much and other entertainment this will have a knock on effect in those industries.
