Could or would a Brex-vote impact Dods earnings? In or out and how? I'm thinking more news, more intelligence likely to be positive either way as people seek out political info and advantage?

Markets shaken! Do you think Dods will buck the trend and continue up without some real news or data to justify price?

Market for political intelligence considerably smaller than the world of news. Not a fair comparison with sky news if I may say so. I was thinking of expanding the business model globally, scaling up should be easy enough ie. growing operations in EU and US.

Thought I saw May time somewhere but don't recall where. Hazard a guess 3rd week onwards. I could be mixing it up with something else. Old age I'm afraid. Memory not quite what it used to be :(

This is what I thought and still do at some level. Not sure however, if Dods will be bought out or it may choose to grow by acquisitions??? Dods is indeed a classy name and brand in a niche market with little competition and much potential. http://www.dodsgroupplc.com/ Someone will soon realise politics and business combined can produce good information that can be sliced, diced and priced and information duly sold for premium. imo really have to wait to hear about eoy accounts before reaching any conclusions. It could just simply be better than expected positive earnings after all the political activity and robust UK performance. Holding for more upside. Much more upside. I'm looking forward to 2018 and 2020 even :)

I think we can can safely assume Sir Williams and Martin Becks have dollops of confidence in the management and outlook for Dods with their EoY accs looks shiny and bright :)

Yes I'm looking very much forward to what EoY accs show about earnings and the August AGM with some details on the transformation and the new structure what ever it may be. Focus I'd expect to be on raising margins and allocating resources where ROI is greatest to state the obvious!!! It's all happening in the digital media industry and for those who have the right recipe, rewards should follow. Show me the dividend is all I'd like to say :)

Wondering what people out there think of this change? One year in the post reminds me of Peter's principal but wondering what the thinking behind it may be? Change in emphasise to direction or consolidation? Subject to eoy results, timing is also interesting!

No I don't. Simply a PI looking for to complement portfolio with 10% penny shares. Very much interested in Dods due to it being an established company, working in a high value, growing changing industry (digital online media), with little or not much competition. Also, in a relatively stable and secure sector (public service). New management turning company around and share price heading in right direction. What else could anyone ask for? Positive earnings and dividends will come to those who are patient :)

Absolutely and that's what I was thinking. They do everything so much bigger in the US. I can just see if they are able to replicate their business model in the EU (as they are doing now) and US (whenever), potential for Dods earnings to grow is MEGA-tremendous :) Keep buying. Hold until dividends declared. Sell when / if dividends cut. Time line, who knows??? ADYOR

Article points out negative earnings. Wondering how much price will move if EoY accounts show positive earnings. With all the elections and nature of politics grabbing headlines I'd expect they've had a jolly good year :)

First you look at what Dods do and the nature of their business. Then you look at the industry and digital media and online publications are the way forward coupled with increasing advertising online. There is also events, forums and training side to complement what they do. Finally, check out the management and what they have done and looking to do. fwiw imo 13p is just an appetizer. Wondering where they get their 29.01 valuation from? Based on what earnings or chart projection?

Always prefer a balanced portfolio not too heavy on any one stock. Bought into Barclays& Royal Dutch Shell recently. Prefer FTSE100 stock. Don't see Dods as risky but one with excellent potential in the exciting digital media. Agree with time frame, long term hold for sure. Would like to see dividends eventually. Well done on IPEL. fwiw UNV looks like it may have peaked imo.

I think you need to double that and add 5 for starters ;) Then double again when divis announced in another couple of years :) Do you own any other shares other than Dods???

Hi expectations for 2016. Scottish Parliament election is to be held on Thursday 5 May. We also have EU referendum: In-out vote in May 2016 which some say is too soon so this may get kicked down the road to 2017. Business opportunities for Dods to make money. Still see it as a possible take over by some other media giant. Fundamentals are very good. Strong buy or else you will cry ;) Happy new year to you all :)

I wonder what Sir William's knows that we don't. He obviously has a long life expectancy :) God bless him. Always good to see management having a big vested interest in company they run. Sure positive sign.

Looks like I am the most optimistic one here??? Last time dods paid divis was around 2010. When earnings turn positive and they do announce dividends the share price will go well beyond 40+. This is a long term gem imo. Retirement fund :) Not a fly by company. Been around since 1832 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dods_(Group)_PLC. Major head winds stirring with global economy. 2nd dip in the making. Will not be as deep as 2008/9. Good intel and political turmoil will hold more value in down-turn to those who know how to exploit knowledge. Upside has great potential. Keep buying imo too.
