Alien Metals (UFO) – Corporate – Alien commences drilling at its Mexican projects
Market Cap £41.6m Share Price 0.88p
Alien Metals (AIM:UFO) announced today that it has commenced drilling at its San Celso project in Zacatecas State, Mexico. Alien has three projects in Zacatecas State, two brownfield epithermal silver deposits (San Celso and Los Campos), and the Donovan 2 greenfield VMS target.
Having received permitting and secured a diamond drill rig, Alien finally has the chance to drill test targets at its San Celso and Los Campos Epithermal Silver projects. Both of these projects have been mined historically for high-grade silver, and projections of well-defined structures offer compelling targets. The drill rig will subsequently move to the Donovan 2, copper base metals VMS target, where sampling from inside an old water well returned over 3.34% copper while geophysical surveys have defined compelling targets. Donovan 2 is in similar geology and 20km west of San Nicolas, Mexico’s largest VMS deposit; it is unlikely that San Nicolas formed in isolation.
WHI View: Following a two-year Covid related hiatus on its Mexico projects, this is fantastic news for Alien in our view. Alien is also advancing DSO iron-ore projects in the Pilbara, and has recently consolidated concessions around the Munni Munni ultramafic complex with the recent 100% acquisition of the Munni Munni Joint Venture including a historical 2004 JORC compliant PGE resource of 2.1Moz PGE as well as the Elizabeth Hill mine, in Western Australia. As exploration advances across Alien’s Portfolio we anticipate a steady flow of positive news this year.
