As I see it , two large scale projects planned by Gusmao/Horta under the Islands SDP 2011-2030

Southern Coast Project - Sunrise HUB pipeline and Bettano Oil and Beaco multi string Gas/LNG Exports, pretty much set in stone as far as the Island concerned - Timeline to operational 2030/31

Northern Dili area Project - Metinaro all fuels 90-120 days tank farms, including Gas/LNG Imports single string and 90 day tank farm. Stripped away from the original , all at Beaco plan.

Implemented by PM Rauk, on the back of covid and tropical storms devastation, when the current 3 diesel (to be converted to Gas) power stations compounded their problems time and again, power cuts, unreliable supplies etc.

Promised it would never happen again, cheap reliable lekky for all Timorese ASAP, whole plan to be completed by 2025/26.

FID for Metinaro was announced Feb 2023 , to be by end of 2023 or IN Q1 2024 (Jan-March) at the latest, that time is almost up, as said Sunrise set in stone, monster Kelp zero dev done since abandoned by Mobil years ago, leaves only our Chuditch as available for that timeline with the right partners, to supply themselves with their own cheaper gas.🤔

At the recent Cabinet meeting , they signed off on $148 to the local firms to provide electricity across the whole of the Island (supply transmission lines sub stations etc) Can only see that as a pre cursor to , approval and FID of the Northern project near Dili and two of the 3 power stations.🤔
