If you stopped oil and other fossil engergy providers right now then you can pretty sure that thousands would die of cold this coming winter . Since we are dealing with the weald in here then underground it is mainly chalk and the weald and the whole of the UK was underwater to produce chalk , and it has been up and below the waves several times in the past and even Sabre Toothed Tigers and Hippos have lived here. As I have , far too often perhaps, there is no such thing as an optilum climate. It fluctuates Historically we can trace four major ice ages lasting hondreds of thousands of years and onoy 14,000 years ago just North of London the ice was more than a mile thick. There are upside of global warming too , large parts of icy unproductive tundra will become productive of crops and it will be more vieable to live in those areas too . Cold winters kill a lot of people, especially elderly people so for them a little global warming is a life saver . Yes we are probably speeding up the warming phase but it was coming anyway and incidentally tree ring study suggests that the planet was even warmer than it is now, in Roman times, The temperature cycles, and there is no reason to suspect that even the output of the sun is entirely stable .So I wouldnt worry too much about global warming it is going to happen anyway !
Said to be in the 1960s-1970s although I hasten to say there is no evidence of it happening here, where is was suspected that new companies formed up and took massive loans and then went bust two years down the line .The point, it was said, that during those two years the directors enjoyed directors salaries . However, to reassure the shareholders it is my opinion that the BoD salaries should reflect the performance of the company and not reflect what an executive of a successful company could expect .Possibly their salaries should not be topping £30,000 until things improve ?
I rather place my faith in industrial espionage. Not only the companies themselves but agencies and or course employees .If they information to sell, then they will sell it and if it is good we could expect to see dramagtic rises or even bids for the company .At the moment there is nothing to sell and there hasnt been for several years either
I think we observed that way before you did .It doesnt matter even if Turkey came good, it would not be producing commercially for months, perhaps even years hence. Mr Sanderson should have consolidated and if he had a firm financial base then he could have built on it. What he has done is to make the shares meaningless and probably even more so if he attempts to make Turkey commercial ,t would have to be on borrowed money , lots more of it
I seem to recall it was a potential one billion at one time .But of course we only have ourselves to blame, There had been oil assissement of the weald in the past. Oil shows were observed but obviously they did develope them,so they probably concluded it was not worth while . Still its been fun. My experimental £2.5k is worth a princely c. £100 now , so I was at least able to keep UKOG in printer ink !
Yes but even if they are there not too many oil strikes go on to be commercial .Most are just shut in as uneconomic to operate.I blame SS for not consolidating what he has but rushing off on other mad cap scemes such as hydrogen storage. He will have died of old age if hydrogen as a fuel is ever developed for the general market.Bascially the share holders in here are just paying salaries but I have seen no hint that the BoD are willing to spread the pain and take a cut in salaries ,so the sort of money they are paying themselves is not justified by production .The best thing they can do at present is find a buyer but of course that will probably result in a loss of salary for the present BoD, so they hang on hoping that Tinker Bell will pay them a visit
Wow you are making fortunes out of UKOG , I dont know how the SP has generally gone down and down and has been just fractions of a penny for several years now. You would have to own millions of shares to make a few pounds on rises of 00, points of a penny to make anything . However, assuming you do own millions of shares what the heck are you doing in AIM with such market knowledge ? As for the future of oil you are wrong the quantities of oil required are going down and down day by day .There are still some other industrial uses for oil of course but they too are decreasing . I imagine the last market of oil for bike chains will not last long before someone brings out a green alternative. Word of caution, though, at the time of the year the harbour at Monti Carlo is quite busy and its hard to find a place to dock, but you knew that already ?
Would have thought just spudding in would have brought oil in mud when it was brought to the surface and oil under pressure would have come up of its own accord .Logic does not suggest a high pressure high yield oil field ,maybe deeper ?
As I understqnd it Mr Sanderson is obliged by his contract to buy a certain amount of shares, in that event he would certanily have to obtain Company permission to sell any of them , and that is unlikely to be given in the situation UKOG is jn at the moment .Anyway even if he owned shares, off is on bat, it would do immense damage to the company in its current perilous state if he disposed of them
Ninetails, as you infer, there is all sorts of codswallop in here and learned discussions by self appointed oil experts . As share holders, however, casings and perforations are inconsequential, including side tracks, and water .We are only interested in have they found oil and is it in commercial quantities . Anything else is just chit chat ?!
Hi Penguins,
No you have not been negative this share and UKOG's track record dictates treat this share and UKOG tself with caution but some are treating it with fantasy and converting fantasy into fact when there was no secure basis to what they said.Even now , of course, there is always a little hope but it is very slim indeed
The thing is we are not speaking about military secrets .There are stacks of people who would know , at the drill head etc..
who would know before even management know if the drill has been successful . What they know would be reflected in the quantity of shares purchased before the RNS even came out . So they are supposed to be near completion of their current test I havent noticed, based on what is generally known news, inexplicable purchases
