How manufacturers and wholesalers should notify us when using flexibilities (published 21 April 2020, updated 10 July 2020)
A dedicated email address has been created for manufacturers and wholesalers to notify the MHRA when using flexibilities. Notifications should be sent to Covid19.GMDP@mhra.gov.uk on a ‘do and tell’ basis.

No prospective MHRA approval is necessary.

The information required is:

Manufacturing authorisation number and site number
A description of the regulatory flexibility used
The reason for using the flexibility
The anticipated duration of using the flexibility, as date range or ‘ongoing’ if unknown.
The product name and marketing authorisation number to which the flexibilities are applied (manufacturers only)
The market to be supplied (if not UK),

I'm thinking the same. There is so much happening at the moment and testing is a very political issue, involving billions of tax payers money... Im sure there are possibly NDA's and /or the equivalent going on at this very sensitive time ....imagine how other services, public and private services that could follow in the footsteps of aviation, such as hospitals, schools, office workers, clubs, restaurants etc etc ....f the self test passport , covid free / freedom pass theory becomes reality.

UK Government latest Advice on testing, and particularity Home Testing - dated just 22nd September 20. This advice will have to change, once permission is granted and it will be the only kit available !!!.

"Self-testing
A self-test kit is one in which you take a sample, test it yourself, and then read and interpret the results yourself as well. This is different from self-sampling where the sample is taken at home but then sent to a laboratory for testing.

"Self-testing
There are currently no COVID-19 self-test kits in the UK suitable for home use and it is illegal to supply them for use by members of the public. This is because no COVID-19 self-test kits have a CE mark. However, this may change if CE marked self-test kits become available."

First to market....at a time when the government are paying ............and their is a desperate need.....and no alternative.....what would a company pay for a product like that.

Its in the public domain that the UK Government have a date of December to roll out saliva tests for Operation Moonshot.
With a 100bn budget and a necessity to cut new infections and get people back to work, then im sure its a very real possibility.

This form only last week ( 27th September). note it refers to an instruction from Dept, Health and Social care for company's to submit proposals for production of 1.5 million " swab collection kits" per day! Things are happening behind the scenes, just need a bit moire time. I would think this is something that could be discussed - as public knowledge. Maybe a good question at the Q&A !

The UK has signed up to the Access to COVID Tools initiative, known as ACT

The UK has signed up to the Access to COVID Tools initiative, known as ACT, and will be able to order the tests for UK residents.

The Government has not confirmed if they intend to buy the tests, but rapid testing was central to the ‘moonshot’ proposals leaked recently.

Quick tests, which are expected to take around 90 minutes to yield a result, are currently being trialled in Salford and Southampton.

£500 million funding for quick result COVID-19 test trials. This was announced on 3rd September 20. The government are probably awaiting the results from these trials before going forward. We need to try and find out what the latest is on the results of these trials!

So many opportunity's out there....just need the green light. If you look at some of the contracts already signed for rapid testing technology , the wait time and accuracy is poor compared to ODX.
