The SP is moving rather swiftly, too swiftly. Is there some news out there that has not reached me yet that would explain this?

It's hard to predict this one. Essentially the current price includes a serving of sentiment, and am expectation that the company is doing poorly. The stores have supposedly been busy, and the question that's probably on a fair few minds is whether volume has come at the price of margins. I am not sure it's quite as doom and gloom as some here believe, but we shall find out quite soon.

Definitely. This is oversold now, think someone pointed out company is essentially 18% UK and at the risk of some fca interference SP drops way more than 18%. Makes little sense.

Will the changes to bonuses hit both profit and growth so severely to justify this price? Doubt it but we'll see.

I am sorry you are unable to understand. I'll make it clearer for you: RG and PI and certain brokers will be stuck in "everything will always be amazing"-mode. The company is poor at communicating. Their slow monetization of the reserves can be down to a multitude of reasons, but none of the explanations (or the lack thereof) provided is satisfactory. My view is that there are better shares to hold, but if you hold shares and you are very patient then it may pay off eventually. I am very familiar with the Chinese fossil fuel market (and RG's companies in particular), thank you for your (misplaced but well-meaning) concern.

First off, I would stop paying attention to most of not all brokers, especially ones covering mainly small cap. Just look at how often they give buy at very inflated prices and how rarely they give sell. Second, Grewal has always been very upbeat and PI have acted in a manner similar to some brokers, which makes me doubt how reliable they are to point out negative issues. As for gdg in general, they are moving slowly. If they have useful reserves, then they should work to turn those reserves into cash flow. This is where investor uncertainty comes in. We don't know why. It may be that Grewal does not wish to take on higher gearing, or delays due to inadequate infrastructure (pipes, roads, etc). I wish that communications would improve from the company but with one majority owner (who no doubt ha's access to all information himself) I don't think this will improve. If I bought shares significantly higher than current price I would hold on to them because company appears to improve although slowly (and taking losses is oh so hard on the psyche). If I held no shares I would probably not buy into gdg at present. The shorter version: company is growing slower than I would likeand there is not much information about it. But they are producing and selling so should be viable.

As long as UK does crap, RDSB will do relatively well. It is a company which is not really dependent on UK markets, and it is seen as a relatively "safe" alternative to those that do rely on the UK. Also, bear in mind that if Shell remains the same as it was before the brexit, it must be more expensive now in terms of pounds as the pound is worth less.

Won't be able to make it, but can you find out when they expect to instate a progressive dividend, with the supposed cash flow?

Completely uninteresting update, really. The last six months were better than previously, which I think we all expected. There is no allusion as to whether they have any plans for the future in regards to work force, changing consumer sentiment, national economic outlook changes, concerns regarding mortgages, etc. So it told us what we knew and little else. I suppose it is nice to hear things were not surprisingly bad before bad things happened! Either way, I would not be selling PSN today almost regardless of what the statement contained, as I am sure that over long-term the company will rebound at least to some extent, even if this referendum will leave its marks. I would not consider buying at the moment either, as it seems to uncertain how long recovery will take.

"trading prior to Brexit was fine" will not really be news but I'll be interested in seeing what plans they have going forward.

Just checked, they've gained a couple of % in euros so it's not just inflation we're seeing, people are willing to pay a bit of a premium for the quality.

RDS is a relatively safe option and it would make sense for price to increase because safety warrants a premium at times like these. However, we have also seen a fall in the pound. As RDS is also traded in euros and dollars, a fall in value of pounds would mean RDS value as measured in pounds would have to go up even if the price in dollars or euros was stagnant. Has anyone compared to what extent RDS price has outperformed when accounted for loss of value of the pound or alternatively how much the price has appreciated in terms of dollars or euros?

Too late to panic. Once the disaster has struck, it is too late to liquidate holdings. Just sit tight and hope for the best, if there is doubt about the complete exit, or promise of a norway-style deal (worse for UK than remaining, but better than alternatives) then we may see a rise.

RIO is a funny one, although a fall in iron prices should be a bad thing for an iron producer, it may hit their competitors harder as RIO have relatively lower production costs than many. So a low iron ore price may actually benefit rio if it cripples or bankrupts competitors. Difficult to say where this will go.

- It is high, but so are other home builders like TW. A company occasionally goes over its previous high, and that may happen here as well as with TW. - Most builders have rallied today. - If poor data is expected (not sure it is) then it should already be baked into the price (or so the flawed effective market theory claims). - Most builders tend to be fairly optimistic, the main concern being that people may opt to leave EU. I don't think the SP is at much greater risk than FTSE350 in general, although may see a greater change to SP than FTSE350 does after the referendum (regardless of outcome). Obviously everyone should do their own research, and I would not feel comfortable stating with great certainty where SP will be in two weeks time.

Being enthusiastic about shares is a dangerous business. I prefer the perhaps impassionate but factual approach to these matters. Generally, if news are entirely in line with what is anticipated then there is little change to SP. The good or bad results are then already baked into the share price, that is basis of an effective market. If GDG publishes accounts that everyone expects them to, we may see a small lift of relief that nothing awful has happened. As for broker recommendations, they're almost a joke at best of times, but they continue giving recommendations along the lines of 700 for GDG. Do you think a change to 750 or 800 would make any difference? Maybe the "black on white" promise that GDG is increasingly generating cash will re-assure some people and help the SP rise, but I am afraid it may still be somewhat limited for the reasons above. If they decide to lay down anything about capital return or something we do not already know, that may be more appreciated by the market.
