I just looked on the other share chat forum and it appears that it was tipped again in the Investor's Chronicle yesterday. Unfortunately I can't read the article because it's behind a paywall.

The other scary thing is on days like this there's no liquidity for sellers: if I wanted to I can only sell tiny amounts - so one is 'trapped'. Buying no problem.

It doesn't matter how many words are written here, the brutal fact is investors are selling and not buying - even at these levels!
Ordinarily, with the sp down 25% since my last purchase I'd be considering another top-up, but I can't bring myself to do it - the chart for SED is just too scary.
I'm quite sure SED will have no problem raising money if & when needed and the placing won't be at a big discount to the prevailing sp (so won't be highly dilutive in that sense). However, obviously, the problem remains where the 'prevailing sp' might get to by then...
What's going on here is a total eye-opener for me. Either this is the bargain of the century or an investing fiasco.

I didn't buy at 67p the other morning because I already had a top-up at 71p from way back when.
Altogether, I have quite a large position here - bought at various prices - and will be patient.
Still plenty of net cash on the balance sheet and a reasonable divi yield.

No idea what's causing the rise - nothing in those Interims or any subsequent RNS.
I know the investor's chronicle have been tipping it for a while...

Since the initial 25% drop, the share price has fallen another 20% over the next 3 trading days.
Hard to make sense of it.
Was the RNS that bad?
Are investors bailing out because they've decided KCT is way overvalued?
What am I missing?

I was going to say that there has actually been plenty of news and plenty of contracts have been signed... but it's evidence of sales that's the only part now missing.
The other thing I've noted (but am trying to 'look through') is the constant flow of 'positive news stories' and pretty shameless promotion on share forums (like Vox Markets, etc), which have unfortunately turned SED into a bit of a 'meme stock'.
I speak as one of those that averaged down! Not any more.

Meanwhile, the share price briefly dropped to 40p to sell this morning.
The divergence between price and apparent prospects is staggering!
At these levels you inevitably wonder if someone knows something you don't...

... and more time & patience...

It's like snakes and ladders with this company, with today's Trading Update acting like a particularly long & slippery snake.
Don't hold shares but am looking intently. My first impression is the drop is overdone - this is by no means is a failing business.

Can't disagree with your comments about debt, transparency, etc, Shearclass and certainly the share price keeps on dropping, but I'm not sure we should dismiss these Sutardja family purchases as immaterial or 'completely irrelevant'. Indeed he made a packet at IPO, but why would he spend any of those proceeds, let alone tens of millions of pounds, buying back on a regular basis at prices substantially higher than today's 88p if he didn't have some belief? Sure, he may end up losing money on those purchases, but one presumes that's not his intention.

Less than stellar trading, but it looks like the market wasn't expecting much, judging from the muted share price reaction.
Speaking generally, I've been noticing that in-line or marginally disappointing results are not being as severely punished as they were a few months ago, which tells me we are now bumping along the bottom, at least in UK small cap world. If I'm right, it's just a matter of staying patient and we can expect fewer nasty surprises. ...
...apart from any surprises in Ukraine - that should be mentioned as I listen to Putin delivering a chilling and deluded speech on the anniversary of his 'special military operation'.

VIC's caught the Monday blues - down 5.5% as I write, for no particular reason.
Suppose it's had a good run and some profit taking was inevitable.
And nothing goes up in a straight line, esp these days!
