I've been in WPCT, sorry SUPP, sorry INOV, for years....(!) and watched a substantial investment turn to dust, so I guess my mindset is somewhat different.

I'm facing a 75% loss (was over 80%), but I decided a long time ago that I'm in for the long haul, as much for experience as anything else - and to leave that 75% loss up on my screen as a salutary reminder - but actually I'm more optimistic than I have been for ages. Maybe a sweeter taste in the forthcoming realisations?

I still like Oxford Nanopore (although the Schroder Juniors have been selling down to obtain liquidity (no doubt to pay their fees) at all the wrong times) and I still like Atom Bank. If I walk away with a 60% loss at the end of the process, I'll be a v happy fellow.

What needs to be appreciated is that even at 93p the share is 20% below where it was in April. As usual, the market swung too far negative, that's all, now it's playing catch-up.

Share price taken a bit of a knock in recent days. I suspect it's geo-political shenanigans, not which affect the company directly but which encourage

a lower allocation to equities in general. So a little profit taking and hunkering down in cash methinks.

Wouldn't proffer a view about FY25 revenue doubling again, but I do know the company is well-capitalised and the interests of all parties are aligned.

Wow, it is quite a read! Popcorn time. I also hope that sensible heads prevail. The only people doing well out of this are the lawyers, obvs... I'd rather not know how much has already been spent on this... lucky that BIG is cashed up.

Exactly. On a 'good news day' for brick makers, Ibstock tanks 14%. How is this possible? Very simple. Because the company is run by low-quality management who can't be trusted to expand production without blowing the budget. We are talking about the basics of financial control.

Far too many poor management teams out there in UK small & mid caps I'm afraid.

Patiently waiting for the long anticipated pick-up in housing but all it's led to is "higher than expected incremental fixed costs"... For goodness sake, if you increase production, costs go up, couldn't they anticipate this?

For goodness sake Boohoo, let Frasers buy REVB at a premium to today's price if they want to. Boohoo can then exit the REVB disaster with slightly diminished losses. Certainly better than attempting a buy-out themselves, financed entirely with even more debt, that would be pure vanity, as said.

Had a look at this table, which I hadn't done for a while. Interesting to see how precariously placed some of my shares are!

Anyway, the 'automatic entry position' for the FTSE 250 is around £520m whereas GBG's mkt cap is over £600m so, no problem, it gets in.

Yes, I know what the FTSE 250 is Corry, but hadn't appreciated just how low the market cap range goes down to... circa £300m and lower is a surprise to me!

Guess that's why they're moving ironknut, getting access to the much bigger pools of capital within the FTSE 250 funds and ETFs - and certainly that's the reason stated in today's RNS.

All in all, I'm happy with my holding today, notwithstanding today's hit.

A fair point made on the other board is that with the announcement that they'll move to the main market, IHT focussed funds may be mandated to dump the holding and some may be doing so today. If that's the case then this should be a buying opportunity... prior to the inevitable buy-in from mainstream funds once it enters the all-share index. However, unlike what some are saying on advfn, there's no chance it'll make the FTSE 250 and benefit from any ETF action... but the prospect is there (if it doesn't get taken out by PE).

Well, as a retired solicitor you'll know that if one misfeasance is uncovered, others may be lurking!

On the other hand, new management appear well chosen and this feels like a very good sector to be in to me.

So why don't they just bite the bullet and move?

Thanks Dartron - I didn't know Saba Capital were sniffing around NFG or GBG, I thought UK investment trusts were their bag.

I hate these situations. I read the report and it reads well and yet the sp drops 10%, leaving me scrabbling around trying to see if I've missed something.

Have they misled us or is the market just incredibly fickle and illogical? Answers on a post card please.
