The October GDP stats are but one piece in a fast moving picture. Somehow I don't think the November and December stats, when they come and as they relate to Sig, will please. Maybe the company can successfully navigate this tricky period. Hope so.

Would anybody happen to know if a date has been set for these? I'm aware that the U.S. authorities are attempting to build a case to enable extradition and have recently demanded that he hand over documents, but can see no further progress. Does anyone have an opinion on the matter?

There's a simple way of defeating those who short-sell on trading patterns (rather than on fundamentals) and that is to not give them your shares. If you can train yourself to stay more patient than them, fundamentals will out and you will win.

Remember The Great Man's axiom "the stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient". It never applies more to defeating short-sellers.

Started 3 days ago, since when the company has been buying about 200K shares, nearly a million quid, per day. Is that a good use of company cash when the share price keeps falling?

It's ugly out there, lots of uncertainty and my shares have suffered commensurately.

I saw the figures this morning and looked at what shares I had in the sector - Costain (construction) and Sig (building materials). Although the stats don't give the reasoning, there's lots of chatter in the industry about supply & labour shortages holding back projects and output - surprised such chatter hasn't reached you. Omicrom, if it proves problematic, will add further to these disruptions, obvs. Perhaps 'brace' was a bit tongue-in-cheek, suggestive as it was of a major crash, but Sig's share price is down 4.5% in sympathy.

Construction & building materials in particular contracted 1.8% due to supply & labour shortages.

All this before omicron came along.

For holders of Sig, including myself, it's 'brace, brace, brace'!

I'm getting buy quotes on VIC shares which are well outside the stated spread....

Market shenanigans - whether on Barclays or HL, I'm getting buy quotes on MADE shares which are WELL outside the stated spread.
e.g. spread: 111.2p - 113.2, but I'm quoted 122.4p.
Same sort of thing with Victorian Plumbing.

Not that I'm making firm predictions, but I'm marginally hopeful that the share price has only dropped 8%. Other shares have been dropping like stones at even a whiff of supply & margin problems in their updates - look at Victorian Plumbing today (not directly comparable, but instructive of these febrile times nonetheless).

Revenue growth of 40% year-on-year confirmed, but supply issues mean there will be a delay in revenue recognition. They are silent on margins. What do we think? Market no like....

The risks of investing in tiny microcaps - share price now half what it was at the start of the year... and all that cash sitting on the balance sheet!

I wonder if they'll cut the divi again... some punters on here believe the money would be better spent on debt reduction.
