Are the board running this Trust for the benefit of shareholders or the management? It's a fair question.

SGEM can't seem to escape its tiny size, poor performance and huge discount. Frankly my patience is exhausted. The trust should be put out of its misery and wound up so that we, the shareholders, get our money back at close to NAV, rather than carrying on like this. The board appear keen not to deprive their Stewart Investors mates from receiving the juicy 1% management fee.

Another purchase by multiple directors to add to the one at the start of the month. Again, not huge - 3 directors bought around £30K worth each - but maybe it's adding up.

Yes and no. With hindsight, perhaps we did have the opportunity to load up cheaply, but at the time how were we, simple pi's with no inside knowledge, supposed to react to the pulling of the report on the day of publication and the likelihood of share suspension in the new year? Only the bravest/maddest pi would buy large in such circumstances, at least not before understanding more. Meanwhile, the board, well they did know more - they were aware of much of the circumstances surrounding the corporate governance issue - so when they quickly announced the date of the adjourned AGM (by means of a 2nd RNS later in the day), they piled in. No, in my opinion, that's more than just poor PR, it's dodgy as (insert expletive)!

madmick, underlying Culpepper's question is the fact that Sig is supposed to be mid-way through a turnaround under new management - a management who are meant to be remedying the mistakes of the past including exiting the lowest margin products. Now I don't know if it's all true, but in that context it's pointless looking at the historic p/e - it's projected earnings and forward p/e that matters. Until we know better.

After they trashed the share price and then loaded up? It definitely isn't, portswigger, not happy families at all! I'll be careful what I say here - I'm not a lawyer - but the perception of that little swerve... well, put it this way, if we can't trust the board, we have a problem. Hello Mr Meidar.

Yes, you'd want a logistics man running a logistics operation, but not necessarily a logistics company. They are not quite the same - on the company level, how capital is allocated and how operations translate into shareholder returns becomes important. Liad Meidar could help here.

Also, after the recent shenanigans where the board pulled the Annual Report on the day of publication and then promptly dived in to take full advantage of the ensuing price crash, somebody needed to get a grip of their governance issues on behalf of shareholders. I'm sure Gatemore were as surprised (shocked) as we were with what went on and moved in to protect their investment. I would.

Of course one wishes the entire smelly episode hadn't happened in the 1st place but, given it has, I'm happy Meidar's there keeping an eye on things and reviewing strategy.

In the H1 results announced 3 weeks ago, they said ARR would improve in the second half. Promise delivered!

I'm positive about the possibilities outlined in the article. The Times wouldn't simply print any old conjecture they find on a share forum - they'll have done a bit of independent digging to verify that these are real possibilities. It's not a negative piece - relations between MM and the media seem to be improving.

I don't know about you gents, but Ibstock has been a poor investment for me.

When I think the share price was £3.00 back in March 2018, I'd certainly want more than £2.45 for a company selling bricks into a strong housing market. If that JPM target is correct, it's only represents a 25% uplift from today's price, which hardly making Ibstock a bargain in today's market when you look around...

These broker targets are all over the place, especially at the moment, take them with a generous pinch of salt.

Definitely no rose-tinted glasses... rather, a strong stomach is what's required! Down 7% today, but that's generally poor sentiment in a thin market, I'd say.

Boy oh boy , do we need them!

I'm hopeful about the recovery plan - that's why I bought shares - but I'm not building up the management's skills in my mind too much... not yet. So far, so good though.

The market has roughed me up recently, so I've become more cautious, more aware of nasty surprises.

I've been distracted putting out fires in other parts of my portfolio, but I am pleased Culpepper - it was an impressive update in tough conditions. Be nice if it moved the share price though... what's funny is this old market!
