ME is a panellist in March 2026 to discuss how partnerships in peptides are accelerating therapeutic innovation from concept to clinic and incidentally, Mark is one of four panellists of which two are from Astrazeneca!
Wasn’t Astrazeneca where the inventor of CX came from too so I don’t want to read between the lines and DYOR, NAI and IMHO but….
AZN oncology license and deals, FYI….
AstraZeneca's oncology partnership deals often involve substantial total values that include an upfront payment and significant potential milestone payments (development, regulatory, and sales-related). The total potential deal sizes can range from hundreds of millions to over a billion dollars, with some reports mentioning figures up to $15 billion for certain licensing agreements.
Key examples of recent and notable AstraZeneca oncology partnership deals include:
Daiichi Sankyo (Enhertu and Datopotamab deruxtecan): Two major collaborations for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
The first, in March 2019 for trastuzumab deruxtecan (Enhertu), was valued at up to $6.9 billion in total, including $1.35 billion upfront.
The second, in July 2020, was for DS-1062 (Datopotamab deruxtecan) and could potentially be worth up to $6 billion for Daiichi.
CSPC Pharmaceuticals: A 2025 strategic collaboration for AI-driven drug discovery for immuno-oncology and chronic diseases, involving an upfront payment of $110 million and potential milestone payments reaching up to $5.2 billion.
Fusion Pharmaceuticals (Acquisition): A March 2024 agreement to acquire the radiopharmaceutical company for a transaction value of approximately $2.4 billion, including a potential contingent value right.
TeneoTwo (Acquisition): A July 2022 deal to acquire the company and its T-cell engager asset for an upfront payment of $100 million, with potential R&D and commercial milestones bringing the total deal value up to $1.2 billion.

Merck & Co.: A major 2017 collaboration for the oncology drug Lynparza (olaparib), valued at up to $8.5 billion in total.
