What has actually changed...the Slovenian government have said no to a payout...this doesn’t mean they will see arbitration out. It’s risk reward... offer even 15-20m now vs potentially lose and have state assets seized to the value of 120m? They will want to see ascents hand...can they fund arbitration? AST threatening something and going through with it are 2 completely different things! IMO the states lawyers will have looked at all aspects of the case including ascents ability to follow through the threat.

I agree it will drop. I will be interested to see what to as can’t make my mind up. The price rose when AST announced they went into negotiations with Slovenia so surely it will follow a similar pattern back down?

I find it coincidental how an extension is requested by Slovenia and then...wallop...€662k court claim for unwarranted costs right in the middle of the extension by Geo...I wonder whom owns geo? This happens Conveniently just AST announce they are generating income which could support company operating costs through the claim.
Clearly the extension was used just for Slovenians to say NO and not even offer a proposal...so why did they actually ask for the extension...really?

I agree. People (including me) will be cautious of selling. If the state suddenly make an offer (which they may do) causing a SP spike, you would soon end up as angry/bitter as some of the posters on here if you sold At a large loss.
As much as people are annoyed with this bod, their communication has been great and IMO they did exactly the right hing releasing news on Friday. It allows investors to consider their position rather than make a panicked flash decision to sell and dump the SP during trading.

Surely 130k/1% of the company in one transaction is not punt money!
I can’t see the price opening at 2p, however the first hour (as always) will be interesting. It all depends if people panic sell and if the institutions start to offload chunks. I feel this will be less turbulent as previous time due to the lower amount of shares in issue and only 50/60% of those being in retail hands.
IMO bod may put an rns out at 7.00 clarifying the company position/plan. Surely they have prepared for a decision either way and will try to apply damage limitation to the sp.

It’s strange someone ploughed in 130k a couple of days ago at 13p. Surely they didn’t do that a hope on a settlement?

The RNS states no proposal was made. I feel internal Slovenian politics may be causing problems. Politics in Slovenian has been a rocky road for a while since the new government took hold. It would make sense for them to make a low ball offer...their legals costs will be big. Also, the risk/reward for them would demonstrate a low offer being a no brainer.
If they lose they have to pay their legal bill, AST’s legal bill and damages vs making an offer.

I said exactly the same thing max.
A few key points,
- they state ‘presently not achievable’ rather than ‘not achievable’. This indicates it could be achievable just not now.
- The Slovenian gov also offered ‘no proposal’. It’s strange how they wouldn’t even propose a cheeky offer to brush this under the carpet particularly when they have been considering the claim for such along time (including extension).
My feeling is some internal Slovenian politics are playing a large role here. I don’t think the government/officials are in a position to make an offer hence they asked for an extension and no have no choice but no go into arbitration.
It makes no sense at all why they would ask for an extension just not even offer a counter proposal! I wouldn't be surprised if an offer popped up in the coming weeks/months.
The general feeling will be know on Monday if the institutions sell. The shares are held 50% by institutions/investment funds which is positive.
