As an avacta share holder of some 18months I am disgusted at the time this has taken. The Govt are only in anything for profit and are an absolute disgrace. I’m driving back to UK next week through the below countries from Germany
todays figures:
UK cases 31808. deaths 92
Germany. 1816. 4
Belgium 1943. 6
Nederlands 2902. 8
The Uk despite being ahead in the vaccine race have a case and death rate 15 times higher. Germany got moved to the green list from sunday ( a month late) but Belgium and Holland and indeed France (who still have a high rate too) remain on the amber list so i’ll be quarantining and doing a day 2 and day8 test from home.
Tests are free in Germany and any furloughed business has had the opportunity to become a test center. as a result there are literally dozens within walking distance, where you can get an administered LfD test with over 98 ss with a certificate with all the required confirmations. a pcr test for about 40 Euros , expressed (3.5hrs) for 100Euros. The LFT’s are ever changing depending on availability of supplies but specificity is always over the level required to use them as a green light test.
As a result Germany (at least in Berlin where i am) are picking up all their asymptomatic cases and the economy has been largely back to normal for some time with the whole population qualifying for a free administered test daily. All bars and restaurants etc require an LFT negative result or a double jab, masks still worn on transport and shops etc.
The UK have thrown this opportunity away by going with a defunct LFT which no doubt is imported and supplied by some crony or another and have stated they are not to be used as a green light test. no all other LFT’s have been stifled for use as a green light test forcing all to use PCR tests in a controlled market.
Any of the listed PCR testing companies with a catchy ‘118 test ’ type title are thought to be the same small group of companies (Which). Huge amounts of both public funds and Individual private money is being spent on a system and tests that are not fit for the purpose of green lighting travel or the economy. but are generating Billions for those dealing in them.
I am a holder of AVCT, NCYT,ODX,GDR,BHR,DVRG,SNG,RMS,YGEN,ABDX,TILS,MHC,KMK,VRS. All largely British companies with something to offer, in some cases best in class, the fight against Covid and all have been shafted, passed over, hindered or ignored.
We are 18months into a global pandemic, this is the modern age, the only conclusion that can be truly reached is that Boris and his fellow “Quockerdogers” have done an almighty turd in their collective union jack underpants.
They know no shame, people continue to die or have their lives unnecessarily and badly affected.
meanwhile good, possibly great british companies are still floundering at the first hurdle.

in short there are a collection photo’s of the new leaflet being posted out with LFT’s which will now be accompanied by a PCR. test. presumably so that they can review the innova test performance. I guess that means they’ll get away with supplying it a bit longer and get rid of as many as possible before they get binned. It would seem the LFT market in the UK is being blown wide open, not before time.

beat the virus.... or manage it profitably. managing the profits profitably will always have a different set priorities to that of beating the virus or saving lives. will LFT scandal just be ignored and forgotten? If they’ve really gauged it wrong, and i wouldn't put it past them, we could even see another Innova order !

Not before having ordered three or four mega orders totaling billions, while stifling the sovereign tests progress. the Chinese made imported test was always ripe for layers of profiteering and middle man dealings etc etc. it’s lack of efficacy just meant they’d off load even more of them. nobody would have bought them but that makes them ripe for the NHS giveaway test with unquestioned emergency purchasing stretched to over a year while we wait for Dr Benway at PD to get that syringe out of his eye. the amazing thing is that it’s gone on as long as this and repeat orders have been possible while the media sleeps and focuses the verrucas of the rich and famous.

Great that we’re watching all this good news coming out about a company we’ve all been disenfranchised of. stench.....

Sdon, sorry i was at a lake in Berlin yesterday so didn't have an opportunity to read responses.
I’m inclined to agree with you on all counts ,really ,there is obviously a host of potential reasons for the delays but we have also seen how when things are directed properly that all agencies and companies can come together far more harmoniously than has been the case here. the vaccines are a case in point but come with the added clout of big pharma and their lobbying weight as well as PR for the politicians. They put their eggs firmly in that basket and the roll out has given a highly flawed govt some breathing space despite their now complete lack of credibility.
the increased technical specifications and the out moded/in flexibly testing regime at PD for these tests has only served to frustrate and delay a product that was already known/strongly believed to be far far better than the current, then and still now, alternatives. We were and still are in the grip of a pandemic and peoples lives have been and still are at stake.
so lets hope Avacta can finally get some orders in. what ever the reasons for the delay, be it profit, incompetence or bad process , these are all no longer valid or acceptable excuses.

is the backdoor monopoly position held by the innova test finally coming to an end? interesting that the changes/developments in the regulatory process prior to acceptance have resulted in a year long delay in any UK made lateral flow test actually coming to market. meanwhile Innova tests have enjoyed a position of no competition whatsoever despite being slated by all and sundry as very substandard, to put it mildly. i wonder who has profited handsomely from this controlled market? someone certainly must have, it having gone on for so long. probably worthy of another inquiry. Lets hope avacta’s turn is finally arriving and hopefully not too late. it’s probably only coming to pass as a result of having threatened to circumvent and head into europe. Sad times in the UK.

DHSC fast becoming the main entity to not do business with. Support british business? use a sovereign test? best left well alone. make them cough up in advance for anything further and this pandemic aint over yet? i think they’re too busy profiting from the problem to want to try and solve it. They would seem to prefer a pandemic that rages away just in and out of control. it’s not like these tests require injecting into the eyeball. SNG had ten years safety data and could have/should have been pushed through. regulators didn’t seem to have any trouble doing the various vaccines in a matter of months. circumvention of the govt would seem a better course of action.

Yes, GDR too , Genedrive also been signed up. govt seem to be sidelining NCYT now. or at least playing hardball with them. still no meat on the bone yet. figures needed aimho.
