The share buy back looks a bit desperate. Buying back shares to articificially bolster the share price is for large cap companies not for struggling minnows. The recent interm results were entirely dreadul and short term financial engineering isn't going to help that.

Dude, what are you talking about? They bought SEP in 2015 and CTM in 2019. If you're gonna post on BBs then at least get your facts right rather than spouting rubbish.

Tracsis has had an events division for many years. They acquired SEP Events in 2015 as per their own website.

As mentioned previously the problem here is management execution (or lack of), significant bloat and a complete exodus of front line staff which one assumes was them taking a hatchet to costs in order to prop up falling profits which ironically was caused by obvious 'top' team excess. The business is a mess and recent pre-close update sounded like a profit warning.

The business also appears to have stopped doing M&A which in the past was the primary driver of growth. They used to do one per year and haven't done anything since 2022. The current strategy has been failing for several years and my fear is that the half year numbers announced shortly will be more bad news.

It's not the sector it's the management. Barnes has tried to turn a collection of very profitable and distinct enterprises trading under a plc umbrella and smashed them into a single entity when there was no good reason to do so. In the process they seem to have had a mass exodus of staff.

This company used to be an AIM gem but now looks like every other bloated plc that only serves to line the pockets of management. The company used to generate >£10m of profit and now is essentially loss making. Just look at the accounts! Complete mess and very disappointing.

As I've said for YEARS, this company is a joke and represents all that is bad about the AIM market. In 10 years they have never (never) hit their forecasts, the CEO is an overpaid charlatan and their numbers - if you can call them that - are going backwards with falling, pitiful revenue and huge growing losses. I feel genuinely sorry for those still invested but if it's any consolation the market cap is still ridiculously high. Get out now before the music stops as one wonders who on earth is going to keep funding this dog.
