Rivers: Sewage
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what steps he is taking to reduce the proportion of untreated sewage that flows into rivers and streams.

Water companies are committed in the 5-year business planning period (2020-2025) to a significant programme of improvements to the monitoring and management of storm overflows at a cost of around £1.1 billion. However, I recognise that there is more to do. I met water company CEOs in September and made clear that the volumes of sewage discharged into rivers and other waterways in extreme weather must be reduced. To achieve this, I have set up a new Taskforce bringing together Government, the water industry, regulators and environmental NGOs. This Taskforce will set out clear proposals to address the volumes of sewage discharged into our rivers. The Taskforce is also exploring further short-term actions water companies can take to accelerate progress on storm overflows.

What have they received the £400k for exactly? They aren't going to recommend products just their ingredients. Is it to have their products tested so their ingredients can be included in what should be used?

Yep approx 6 weeks until Skin Trust launch. Will we get some collaboration Rns's prior to that and some advertising maybe? Promotion will surely involve TV coverage and the national press media (in various countries)

The Clean Water State Revolving Fund has historically been marketed as a last resort for municipalities because of other financing options like self-financing, bonds, or other loans through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program, according to Kelly Green, administrator of The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Water Infrastructure Financing Department.

The department partnered with the Michigan Water Environment Association and the American Water Works Association to boost its marketing efforts and streamline the application process. It is also updating legislation to align the program with the state’s infrastructure needs.

Ouch Chesh, reckon some might have sold thinking investors weren't impressed and buying but HL users were unable to. Could be in for a good day tomorrow too now it's sorted and they can take a position.
