Oncobayes Alpha is still active

No RNS news now for two months but no doubt plenty going on in the background

PYC have lots of irons in the fire so would be expecting updates real soon on contracts, collaborations, appointments etc

News re Head of Modelling must be close. The 'Careers' section of website suggests they are still recruiting but the associated link has no such position and this has been the case for many weeks. Presumably appointment has been made and notice period being worked

I note the comments in the FDA Guidance regarding animal testing :

'We support the principles of the “3Rs,” to reduce, refine, and replace animal use in testing when feasible. We encourage sponsors to consult with us if it they wish to use a non-animal testing method they believe is suitable, adequate, and feasible. We will consider if such an alternative method could be assessed for equivalency to an animal test method'

Could the PYC collaboration with the University of Sheffield provide such an 'alternative method' Here is an extract from the RNS of 31st May 2023

'Physiomics ....is supporting The University of Sheffield with research into an insect (Drosophila melanogaster) model of cancer treatment that could be used to screen potential new drugs prior to pre-clinical testing in more traditional mouse models of cancer. This new approach could provide important insights into the development of new cancer therapies as well as potentially reduce the number of pre-clinical animals involved in the drug development process'

A few years back we used get a fair number of interesting RNS releases mid-day to late afternoon (holdings announcements, major updates etc). Used to keep you on your toes until close of trading

Seems that PYC is happy just to put out 7.00 am announcements nowadays which would suggest some information is held over until the following working day before being released

PYC moved to Milton Park nearly 12 months ago and it looks like a good move to me. The following article (albeit a little dated now) shows the the importance of this 'innovation community to UK Life Sciences

This further article from July 2024 highlights significant investment being made in novel research by resident companies here. It includes £25m funding of Pathios Therapeutics reference cancer Immunotherapy, including a strategic investment from Bristol Myers Squibb. Interestingly PYC issued a tweet on 31st July relating to BMS and their mechanistic modelling techniques and also a link to the following account of their recent work :-

We could do with some long term backers here rather than having to go cap in hand for funds. I find it disappointing that Shalabh Kumar, a known angel investor and NED of the company, has not yet found himself able to invest in PYC. He is setting a poor example, as are the other Directors

I recall JM getting quite excited a few years back when the company raised funds through its first institutional investor, but it didn't last long

PYC received an 'initial' payment of unspecified value from Sareum in December 2016 in relation to a licencing agreement with CRT Pioneer Fund for candidate CCT245737 (later named PNT737)

It is unclear with the reversion of the candidate back to Sareum whether any future licencing deals would give rise to further payments. PYC have not referred to the profit sharing agreement subsequently in any RNS to my knowledge

The article mentions that ''Professor Claire Lewis, who led the study, said she was 'excited' by the therapy's impact and hoped to conduct clinical trials 'as soon as possible' ''. It is certainly possible that PYC could be asked to analyse and interpret the data resulting from the trials

I have just revisited Peter's IMC presentation from 18th March, 2024 which is excellent and in-depth. He clearly has a plan, but these things take time

I think Peter Sargent needs to start having some meaningful dialogue with shareholders and potential investors

I am disappointed at his failure to provide regular formal communication on progress. This could have given PYC some much needed momentum. As it stands the share price is one-third of what it was when he took charge as CEO

PYC worked on NM26 and received the following reference from David Snell, VP Translational Science at Numab :-

“We have worked with Physiomics on a PK/PD modelling project for our molecule NM26-2198, intended for use in patients with inflammatory disease. The work has been highly productive, valuable and enjoyable. The Physiomics team are knowledgeable, helpful and dedicated to provide the expertise required to bring the project to fruition. Based on this excellent collaboration we will certainly be working with Physiomics again.”

Shame no profit sharing arrangement in place here !!

Agreed. Be better still if the Directors showed some confidence and bought in the market

Maybe when the DosemeRx deal is about to be signed they may think about it

I hope that Jim will still give his full commitment to PYC. It was his deliberate change in strategy to grow the company more rapidly which has given rise to large losses ever since and a consequent plummetting share price. I hope he stays around to help prove that the strategy was the right one longer term
