My thoughts are that charts have a part to play when nothing much is happening but once a fundamental change occurs such as a leak from the CEO , a placing, drill starting or any notable event they go numb until some balance recurs. They can forecast shifts of sentiment but fundamental events can only be guessed at due to technical knowledge or insider information.
Missed out there, couldnt transfer money across fast enough. Often seen this happen, usually when MMs are trying to take the froth out of a share before investor presentations using cheap shares after placing. Calms the hysteria down a bit.
The key is to accept what Unesco and govt are doing then develop more contacts with the media , the opposition politicians and Jokkmok politicians to maximise pressure on the govt with an implication that legal matters will follow to shame Baylan and co. Cutting the local budget is outrageous and should be a media and opposition joyride. Shout about the unfairness and pettydelaying tactics, make it loud.
Aye Suzy, like the mills of Lancashire. The only problem is that it was a case of having a job and being able to feed your family or starving to death in those days ? Easy choices today but my family came over from Ireland during the famine years and were grateful.
It is just a game of cat and mouse here. The western european politicians are paralysed with fear of the climate change lobby which has hijacked the EU. Few politicians will risk the wrath of demonic Greta, even BoJo has backed down over Cumbria. Rational debate is impossible and governments get round this by pushing costs onto users and consumers by forcing imports whilst outsourcing ever more emissions to countries that laugh at Europe.
It is a question of waiting for the big payday of gaining approval or sueing the swedish government for aborted costs and risking the loss of rights to mine a fantastic opportunity.
A tough choice and our best hope is that Kurt times it right when to go legal as I feel the politicians would settle amicably to rid themselves of an ongoing sore.
The letter may just be absorbed by Baylan but its impact will be the media Jokmokk locality and opposition in parliament. The wider mining community are waking up to this incompetence and will support this input and have an impact on the reputation of swedish administration and interference from UNESCO. A good step forward.1Phl
- Robert Bernadsson hits the nail on the head and fingers have to be pointed at the Green party for their obstructive tactics and the impact it has on a poorer community out of sight to the virtue signallers in comfortable Stockholm.
from your post Suzy,thanks
-We are now forced to make major cuts in welfare. We must cut costs in the budget by ten percent. That is between SEK 28 and 30 million. It affects care, schools and much more. Maybe we will be forced to close and move schools and classes. This would not have happened if we had started mining in Kallak, he says.
What do you say then about those who believe that a mine threatens reindeer husbandry?
The hypocrisy of the greens makes me sick. All they are doing is blocking this mine to signal their virtue while ore is mined elsewhere in a dirtier fashion and shipped into Europe. BEM should be feeding the media the negative cost of this to the environment.
Only guessing you mean my comment about a former adviser to annie loof putting the pressure on Baylan about his failings ? The drift of young people away from the area due to lack of opportunities apart from reindeer herdinh should be shouted using a loud hailer and Kurt should be feeding her facts.
Only other comment I have made is about unspoken agendas but that must be obvious to anyone.
Demands for clearer legislation when investments increase: "Sitting with Svarte Petter" Delayed and uncertain permit processes are becoming an increasingly pressing issue as companies' investment plans grow. Now Norrbotten's new governor Lotta Finstorp is appealing for clear information from the government.
Any election prospect would also encourage the opposition parties to go full on about economic decline due to government inability to make decisions that affect jobs and destroys its international reputation for mining. Baylan would probably counter with a green/Sami response but that may not be enough to sustain a precarious coalition.
The company could take the legal route to recover unjustified and wasteful expenditure due to the government obstruction due to politics. Then walk away from this deceitful and corrupt country and work elsewhere.
If you go back a couple of years taka I think you will read about initiatives Kurt had taken to have a dialogue with the Sami, initially rebuffed but he persisted and has had several local meetings and presentations before covid came about. It is clear he has also briefed other stakeholders to lobby the government from comments made in the media and Parliament. Sweden appears to have a stubborn streak and could be likely to react negatively if the pressure was to be too loud and public. My hope is that this bears fruit or a deal is done with LKAB to let us out of the mess and BEM sueps the swedish government for the ******s they are.
