I believe they were, we have to remember the madness that has gripped society since the IPCC became fashionable, the recent approval for mining in Cumbria has now been stalled. Mining companies near me have to endure protesters arriviñg from sweden, the continent and cornwall in camper vans and concreting themselves on site in toilets to delay operations and get publicity. The concrete is deliberate to make it difficult to cut through and runs the risk of blinding the workers doing the cutting. These people are deranged but take activism to a new level. Until the media stop focussing on sentiment instead of reality all mining in Europe has to progress cautiously.Kurt has to gain widespread support before gutless politicians will upset fanatics.
Excerpt from 8 years ago in swedish press....
The first to be removed from the protest today was 85 year-old reindeer herder Apmut-Ivar Kuoljok. In recent weeks the Swedish police have dismantled the blockade and arrested the protesters, but the protesters rebuilt the blockade after the police had left.
The protesters have also suffered ****** abuse from locals who threatened them with axes. The Sámi Parliament issued a statement saying, ‘the police used a lot of unnecessary force, dragging the activists along the ground. The activists were passive and did not resist.’
This was reported in 2013 and we have had a number of activists ,very skillful in their marketing of sentiment, campaigning in a socialist country full of sympathy for little people against big business. How does anyone think a business CEO threatening legal action would go down well ?
At the same time the local mayor sided with Jokkmok residents who wanted the jobs to stop drift away by local people. I think Kurt has behaved very well to maintain quiet pressure outside the public eye so that others in the swedish community are challenging the politicians such as politicians and media that can't be stigmatised by the business smear.
So, I must be a Yes.
Or, a reply from Unesco gives Baylan his get out of jail free card with the greens for any approval choice ? Either way he has an option that covers his rrrrrrs and isn't that what any sneaky politician would do ?
An interesting piece Suzy, if only we didnt know his track record for deceit. Could be a genuine comment on supporting mining to justify putting the greenie fanatics back in their box or yet another comment to appease criticism whilst quietly telling the greens, off the record,he plans to take no action.
A perfect excuse is on the horizon for the sustained delay of Kallak. When the politicians have to make a positive decision they can justify this outrageous delay by saying they have forced the mining industry to develop cleaner techniques for mineral extraction. A win win situation for Baylan ?
Crypto is brilliant when you are in profit TSP but when central banks express concern and may even wish to destabilise it there is a serious risk of a bubble bursting and your exit roads blocked. Enjoy it while you can but take great care, atb.
These boards make me smile at times, since my registration I have become an expert in mining iron ore, gold, biochemistry, epidemiology and financial wizardry from a multitude of anonymous posters, all posting a wealth of knowledge due to the goodness of heart ! Or,not. In addition I have gained insight into duplicity and scepticism from many posters who clearly have higher opinions of themselves with subtle deramping and malice balanced by ulterior motives, fortunately offset by a core of good and decent people. For ten long years I have been patient and will be until a decision is made , however long that takes. Kurt has a package that depends on a positive Kallak decision and has been exemplary in a CEO role that few would envy. People like Eric and Suzy may differ in politics but have helped me endure the boredom and I have often sensed an underhand effort to undermine their resolve in order to discourage LTH investors. If you don't know the score by now cash in and go is pefectly reasonable advice to me.
Perhaps we are doing it all wrong following established (?) channels of approval. We might take a lesson from our younger generation and pull a few swedish statues down for enslaving our anglo saxon ancestors in the 10th century and cancel Volvo and Abba music in our media !
Come, come wotsit, anyone holding here for any length of time knows the politicians in sweden have no shame and the voting public are so brainwashed they believe this is normal. We are relying on immigrants to instill any spirit of democracy into their process.
