Mr Wootton said that Sports Direct had a “strong balance sheet, we have a near-£1bn facility and we have an awful lot of assets that can support this takeover. We also think we can quickly turnaround Debenhams' working capital if Mike [Ashley] goes in and gives the company some direction.”

Be careful the shorters will not give up tonight and they will start ”nah..low ball offer.....” etc...just because they did not predict it and their stop loss will not help tomorrow because it will open much higher.

MA was prepared to pay 100m for a small part of the company, the mcap now is 20m so if he offer the same amount (likely to be higher) as a minimum the sp should be 5p to start with.
