We've got a Govt !14 Dec 2019 15:43
Boris took the Tory vote up just 1% for an 80 seat majority. Amazing to see Labour strongholds falling to Tory, what's going on - boredom with Brexit dithering and a desire to move on, BJ's stronger line on crime and prison sentencing, BJ's stronger line on Immigration, BJ's driving personality comparing well with Corbyn's floppiness, Corbyn understandably losing wholesale, votes from the Jewish community ?
Corbyn is a ditherer and doesn't give the impression that he could manage a Tea party never mind a Political party let alone a Government for that matter. But for me it's strange that the total Tory vote only increased 1% - with all these Labour voters chipping in, does this suggest the Tories lost a significant number of Tory 'Remainer' voters ? I wonder where those votes went to ?
Chastened - Tory MP's who defected to the Lib Dems - all gone.
Chastened - the 22 Tory MP's who lost the whip - all gone - (I was particularly chuffed to see Dominic 'Rumpole' Grieve fail to get back in). Hezza was on TV today saying 'time to move on' but I'd guess characters like John Major and Philip Hammond are spitting teeth.
BJ is in charge now - I hope the Media can let him get on with the job without excessive prying and without an expectation of him cuddling every crash and flood AND apologising for everything that occurs and also that BJ can use the excellent Jacob Rees-Mogg again, after sidelining his 'Toff' twang for the duration. How Diane Abbott will fare under a new Labour Leader - (banished for campaigning duties for obvious reasons, she reappeared on Polling day wearing 2 left shoes.
Here's to Government !!
