Gordon Stein, CFO of CleanTech Lithium, explains why CTL acquired the 23 Laguna Verde licenses. Watch the video here.
I note and have read the comments published in The Express and forwarded by J46 - I suppose that you can reach his conclusion, if that's what you want to believe.
The Conservatives and their followers (in the handshake brigade) have been forecasting that outcome for at least the last twenty years - when they were sure that the profits that they were making in the currency wars, were going to break the community and their social economy.
I am still surprised and disappointed that so many people believe what they read in the papers, particularly The Express, The Mail and The Times. They should all have "Pravda" inserted in their titles because of the space that they devote to party propaganda.
The community and its currency have been of great benefit to the union and the country's within it - it cannot however cure financial illiteracy and downright dishonesty such as we have seen in Greece and Italy, but it has handled problems like the crash quite well if a little slowly for my taste.
When the plague has passed much re-building will have to be done in the economy, which will probably keep interest rates (for savers) low, but not it seems for borrowers where rates for government assistance via the banks already have been up to 12% it was reported today.
As people who have borrowed before already know, this will be hugely profitable for the banks, because it will take years for borrowers to pay off their loans.
Then we are sure to see a divi.....
Good luck all..
So much for globalisation - don't think that we will be hearing a lot about after the siren blows for "all clear" - whenever that will be.
Where was it reported that the Germans were think about withdrawing from the EU ? - it has been of the greatest benefit to them and France..
Good luck all...
The merry games continue - pump and dump - just like being in the casino except that the house always seems to win.
On the upside however Oil today was reported as 20 Dollars a barrel, which should feed through to the pumps shortly.
What a pity that we can't go anywhere....
Keep well all and good luck..
I think that you are wise to hold off there isn't a scrap of news that would improve sentiment.
Was told today that "Boris's Billions" come at a price, when money is offered it is actually a loan to be administered by the banks - in the circumstances, I find it impossible to believe that they are going to be allowed to charge up to 12% interest.
That will certainly not help the economy in recovery - then there are the businesses that will not be re-opening. I still say that painful adjustments are on the way once we are over the virus. Boris claims that the "recovery"when it comes, will be assisted by rocket fuel - Oh Yeh !!!
There will be further opportunities I feel to average down.
Good luck all and keep well.
We are asked to restrict our outings and presence among large numbers of people for about a couple of weeks - surely we can manage this in the interests of everyone - the Colleen and I are just completing our first week which was relatively easy because we had such rotten colds, the next week will be harder, but if it slows the spread of the virus and shortens the period of dislocation every person benefits and will be well worth the inconvenience.
Did not play last week and may not in fact play this week because I have a lot of spring work on in the garden scarifying the lawns and top dressing them with Bord Na Mona and sand as well as planting a few new shrubs.
Good luck all and keep well.....
When I said that I was waiting for a 1.40 price point, I was not expecting that we would actually get there. If it happens it has to be seen as an opportunity to average down - which I am not going to miss - I will however purchase with a bad taste in my mouth.
The machinations of the financial markets are really quite hard to understand but then my hobby is gardening and golf - both rational pursuits. I am more than ever convinced that Vince Cables assessment that the markets are more like casino's than centres of investment in present circumstances was a kind description, based on our experience.
Good luck all..
My young lady is keeping up with the news in a big way because of the virus and we have both been under the weather.
The news this evening made her so proud to be Irish - what other people would respond in this way ???
Let us hope that they can all be put to use in the fight and that they enough tools available to make a difference. Maybe with this shake up the government will now give thought to a National Health system which really does serve the country. Making a business out of health has always seemed to me to be a poor way of looking after the people - in America two serious conditions can render a citizen bankrupt yet Ireland insists so far in providing care through the private system or via a medical card.
Now that Ireland is a largely successful country, it owes a debt to its citizens to provide them with healthcare and thus advantage the economy and the people who participate in it over the long run.
Good luck all...
What a surprise - their way of operating is the norm in the UK - what you have to do is "SHUT UP - SMILE - AND GET ON WITH IT." Bit like being in the army, bet they only have one part time HR person.
Carphone was a good company when it started - "then the experts took it over."
Good luck all - must get some more Jameson.....
With the news today of Carphone Warehouse and Laura Ashley's demise it serves to confirm what I have long believed, many of these company's were trading on fresh air.
When Cameron said that the private sector would create millions of jobs, after the Tory's had collapsed the manufacturing sector and then we had the 2008 debacle, I wondered on previous performance how this might happen.
They tell us that the economy is strong but I am beginning to think, in light of our current situation, that what we are talking about are the Emperors New Clothes. Jobs are disappearing fast and with it "the new economy" that Tony Blair was so keen on.
There never was a long term future in phone banks selling products which were of limited value and which were being sold largely it seems by youngsters who hated the job in what was essentially a broiler house - and usually sounded like it unless you were talking to India.
That it couldn't continue became increasingly obvious in the shabby returns offered to people who had invested in branded investment products which only seemed able to lose your money - at an ever increasing rate, but still felt able to levy management fees which further diminished their capital.
This current misfortune presents a golden opportunity to kill off these zombie companies and their highly paid executives and commence the job of re-building on firm foundations.
I am quite sure that we have the people to restore some life to the economy who are capable of creating jobs with a future rather than the bucket full of daylight being transported down the mine.
There you are now - that's what Jameson can do.
Good luck all.....
The Guinness is not working so am adopting "Emergency Measures" - Jameson gargle first and then swallow - repeat as necessary. (every time Mr Mac sends a post like the last one or I think about the economy)
When I said that the adjustment would be painful I never anticipated a Chernobyl.
Never enjoyed a St.Patricks Day less.
Good luck
We have just heard that our last public mass was today - I do however have a good stock of Guinness laid in and our new home is very thermally efficient - we are both improving health wise "BUT SOCIALLY" we are going to suffer - being cut off from our daughter and grandsons.
Good job I still have a few friends on here...
Must say that at this price I am beginning to be tempted - it goes to 1.40 I will at least put my foot in.
Am reading all posts and noting the content but have little to add to what has already been said - thank god say some of you.
In answer to an earlier question - the golf courses are still open as of yesterday, in fact I played last Friday and visited every green except one which was too wet. Will not be playing today because of what I hope is only a heavy cold which I have taken from the Colleen over the weekend. We are self isolating just in case it is something more sinister.
Keep safe all - this share won't die - I hope....
Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all - good job I have some Guinness in....
