Shares in clinical diagnostics company Novacyt (NCYT:AIM) sank 12% to 367.6p on Friday after warning that disruption to a second government supply contract will have a material impact on first quarter results.

Today’s warning is the second in as many months and the shares have now halved since the company first announced it had not agreed an extension of a supply contact with the DHSC (Department of Health and Social Care) on 9 April 2021.

In January, the share price hit highs of £11..90.

LACK OF REVENUE VISIBILITY

At the time the company said revenues for the first quarter to 31 March 2021 were €83 million (£72.6 million), noting that roughly half of these revenues were driven by sales to the DHSC, and the other half by continued growth of international sales.

The company said it had taken legal advice in relation to the dispute and believes it has ‘strong grounds to assert its contractual rights.’

The second phase of the contract allowed for the provision of a further 700 PCR instruments and other products and was expected to generate ‘considerably more’ sales than phase one which had a minimum value of £150 million.

INVESTMENT CASE UNDERMINED

Since the first profit warning in April, consensus analyst forecasts for 2021 revenues and profit have dropped by 38% and 50% respectively to €161 million and €70 million, according to Refinitiv data.

The seemingly deteriorating relationship with the DHSC and uncertainty over revenues and profit should be a key concern for investors and underpinned Shares’ recent call to sell the stock on 15 April 2021.

Generally when it drops on no news something happens the next day, there is definitely someone leaking info as it happens every time. Possibly shares allotted to another nhs trust tomorrow maybe?

Either way I’m holding tight if they can prove this works with several more tests and then after covid apply it to other diseases it’s going to be a brilliant money spinner and the opportunities are infinite

Only slight gripe I have with this rns is the title ought to read something like.

I feel like the current title probably gets lost on people who aren’t already familiar with the share so we may be missing new investors...

You can set your watch by sensyne I thought news would be coming after the sell off then the directors buying cheap shares had me thinking there must be news coming and here it is. A lot of money to be made on this share

Tiny bit of share dilution not an issue at all. More patient data, this is so valuable for pharmaceutical companies hopefully excalibur/magnifeye news will follow soon.

Ably a very slight dilution this morning so nothing to worry about really. Hopefully the nhs trusts are getting their shares knowing full well the news that is coming.

This suggests AccuStem is definitely Nasdaq only and correct me if I’m wrong but does that not mean minimum share price of 3 or 4 dollars depending on requirements they meet?

What is the connection between arctic Aurora and polygon

Being that the minimum listing entry requirements for nasdaq is $4 dollar bid price at close or $3 if you meet several other requirements such as cash in bank and market cap I believe, would it be fair to say that accustem will likely be a 2 for 1 adr like Tiziana?

If we intend to list on nasdaq we can expect a list price in the U.K. of $1.50/$2 per share depending which criteria route we take this equals £1.09/£1.46 at current exchange rates. This is better than what I was hoping for from accustem initially, exciting times ahead!
