It said the development of the mine decline at its 30% joint venture Havieron has accelerated in recent weeks as ground conditions improved.

Havieron, in Western Australia, is being developed by partner and 70% owner Newcrest, which said the decline had reached a depth of 1,519 metres (m) as of "18 January 2023" after record rates of progress recently.

So IMO Byrnecut / NCM are spending $millions with this work and must surely have an extended contract, as I am sure Byrnecut would not continue to spend their cash without one.

I would say everything must be in place so IMO no need to worry.

Shareman hey, I see where you are at and I agree that there must be some form of contract update with Byrnecut as their original contract was from January 2021 to October 2022. I have tried to look up some confirmation in writing on the NCM board but failed to find anything apart from what I have posted, :-( maybe someone with a better eye can show us any update of contract information.

The contract IMO has been extended taking into account delays, ground conditions etc as shown in the NCM report below :-

Have a read of page 19 where it states under the Havieron comments:-

"The development of the exploration decline also continued during FY22 with
489 metres complete as at 13 July 2022. Advance rates were significantly impacted
by unfavourable geotechnical and hydrogeological conditions requiring extensive
local and surface dewatering, pre-excavation ground treatment and substantial
ground support installation. Ground conditions have recently improved in line with
the geotechnical modelling forecast, and a steady improvement in development rates
is expected in FY23. Changes in the design of the decline have been implemented in
order to transition into better ground conditions earlier"

Hope that is of some help, but they are up and running full steam ahead. I think you are right that the contract has been extended taking this all into account.

Bottom of page 2 states :-
Newcrest also retains a right of first refusal over Greatland Gold’s Scallywag Project (E45/4701) under the
Havieron Joint Venture Agreement.

This is the last I can find of this topic but to my understanding and not being able to find anything else it seems that NCM have still the RFR. Maybe I have missed something too.
