and ganfeng would own 70% of the same piece of land... the jv has incumbent rights to proceed to the mining stage... that aren’t one sided...

there could be other reasons why ganfeng might need a 20% jv partner... rather than owning 100% sonora outright...

depends how robust the jv’s are... but if ganfeng want to brush the dust off our 70ktpa scoping study... and asked us to contribute to the development of that... why wouldn’t we ffs... that’s what we wanted from the start...

they will have done when it was mined processed and shipped to port way back when... but it has already been noted to the courts about weathering concerns due to the delays caused by the banks... hence why they’ve commissioned assays on the remaining stockpiles... maybe it’s in the formula agreed in the bank settlement... to knock the deprecated value off their settlement bill as a direct result of the banks delays...

i wonder who points out which buckets to do the quality tests on the ore as it’s loaded up... and if they choose best looking / worst looking or a representative sample from a few buckets mixed together... at the time of the 1st shipment went... they wouldn’t have had the results of any quality tests undertaken... if they do do these... so could have been sold and shipped as 62%... but when tested... was actually 58%... or do they work it out from a volumetric calculation to determine the density... volume/weight loaded onto the ship...

i say bought... agreed / fixed the price is probably a better way of putting it... the actual sale of each cargo not completing until the ships are underway...

i think the rns 10may confirms that the 1st shipment was 58%... as is stated... the rns 29mar only gives us the reference date for the price of 62% on that day (*)... could just be to highlight how much the value of ore has increased from prices stated in previous rns’s... was 26feb the date that the sale price was agreed with the buyer... it doesn’t actual state that... also it’s possible that the buyer bought the full quota approved for shipment... not just the 1st one... maybe more even... which could be why there’s no update on the reference price or date given for the 2nd shipment...
(*) if the quality of the stockpiles has depleted over the time it’s been stored... is it possible that they state the 62% reference price so that the depreciation value of that asset during stockpiling can be accounted for on dev’s books / tax returns...
