amended article 11 highlights are interesting... sales of lithium hydride, lithium oxide, lithium boron alloy, lithium silicon alloy, lithium aluminum alloy, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, butyllithium, chlorobutane, n-hexane, cyclohexane, metallic lithium, lithium hydroxide, lithium fluoride (valid until June 3, 2022)...
specifically that it includes the sale of lithium hydroxide and lithium fluoride... but doesn’t include lithium carbonate... they could be looking at other economies in the back end process review... not just economies of scale... such as adding the hydroxide loop... rather than shipping the carbonate to china to convert there... how much spare capacity do they have left in china... to convert lithium carbonate to the various lithium products they sell...

once ganfeng completes its review... the company will deliver final engineering costs for stage 1 of the project... following which the company will look to finalise the funding package for the project... at this stage... the company believes that the engineering costs will remain in line with the 2018 feasibility study forecast of approximately $420 million...
the recent 29.99% equity investment by ganfeng lithium and their 22.5% investment at the project level... in combination with a combined 100% off-take held by ganfeng and hanwa for stage 1 production of 17,500 tonnes per annum of lithium products at the project demonstrates the strong support that both these cornerstone investors have shown in sonora...
combined... ganfeng and hanwa have a see-through ownership of more than 50% of sonora... in the last 18 months... bacanora has already secured a $150 million debt facility with rk mine finance and continues to explore additional sources of project funding... the 22.5% project investment and 29.99% equity investment from ganfeng... in addition to ongoing support from bacanora's other shareholders and off-takers... ensures a very solid position for finalising the project funding stage of the Sonora development...
the company had $40 million of cash at the end of october 2019... which will enable bacanora to commence the bulk earthworks on site in h1 2020 and start to upgrade the primary access road to site... the company will also be able to use part of these funds to place the initial orders for some of the longest lead-time items in the concentrator pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy sections of the lithium plant...

hopefully bcn didn’t burn our bridges when they shunned tesla’s hydroxide offtake... our cinovec investment now looks like it could be the right product... in the right location for them... and yes mrgrumpy... there’s plenty more other major car manufacturers... already well established in the area... playing ev catch up with tesla... do or die... is lithium hydroxide magnetic by any chance...

i can’t see them having it before completing the equity funding... and risk a shareholder vote on the 500m funding shares that lapse at the agm or 13th june... whichever’s sooner... it could so easily go the same way ganfengs did...

probably... their 70% jv is included in the total 12.20mt ore reserves... so they do need to include these at some point... to unlock the full npv a$549m reported in the rns...

if there is development of the mine by the joint venture... not only will there need to be a mining joint venture agreement agreed and put in place to replace the existing joint venture documentation and regulate the arrangements between the participants for the mine development... but arrangements will also need to be established to determine how the yangibana production and tenements... the subject of the joint venture... fit with the broader 100% hastings group owned production and tenements...
