RI was taken up at 98.97% and the remaining 1.03% was 30 times covered! Not surprising considering that post-RI price was 42% above it!!! Entitlement was 1 for 4 held on 12/11/2008. RI shares were traded at best price of 4.50 euros per share (£3.60?) between 13 and 27/11/2008 and Santander "agreed to pay the nominee costs in respect of the sale of the Rights but the brokerage fees and any other charges, such as currency conversion, will be deducted from the proceeds of the sale remitted to you". I think this will mean (e.g.) 100 Santander shares divided by 4 = 25 RI x 4.50 euros = 112.50 euros = £87.75 approx (less charges!). That's just MY reading of it...i'm fairly new to this and have never had this situation arise before...i would have BOUGHT more shares at 4.50Euros but nobody in UK got that opportunity. Payment to you/me will be in the post by 14/12/2008....watch this space!!!

If all trades today are at 1p and only sales recorded what is the buying price...same?

Hi. Just got my 2nd interim dividend from Santander. They tell me it's UP 26% on this time last year and profits are up by 15.8% for first 9 months of 2008 (to 6,935 MILLION EOUROS profit). latest dividend = £0.106280 per share (you get 4 dividends a year = 11/02/08, 12/05/08, 12/08/08 and this one 12/11/08). I don't know why it's 4 per year...think of the paperwork! This year's divis work out in total at £0.51 per share...the biggest divi seems to be the one on 12/05/08 (around 20p per share). At present ratio this represents 10% per annum! WOW!!! think i'll buy more shares...never realised it was so good now!

So the experts at Citigroup say it'll get to 1,200 from it's close of 848.50 ? I suppose the falls in oil costs etc. should help and the consumer will see a drop (eventually) in gas costs (and so BG will reap bigger rewards meantime) and cold winter coming will mean heating costs go up....all good news for BG, yes...but 1,200 - 1,350 per share is a bit optimistic however in current trends ?

Soared to 790p this morning after 6,000,000 + bought yesterday....now it's back down to 580p but showing strength (at last)....what's going on/ why did it drop from 790p to 595p quickly? Still...better than it was yesterday morning!!!

Just heard on TV this morning that, despite other banks posting 'losses' on paper, Santander in UK are UP 5% and generally up 20% !!! How can they be making such profits when all around seem to flounder? Must be good news for a share-surge....buy buy buy!!!
