Stop pretending I’m someone that I’m not. Answer the question I asked about credit suisse and Deutsche bank please or everyone can assume you’re clueless to why the markets are down today. For the umpteenth time stop using other previous posters here to avoid the question, I’m waiting for your explanation:)

I’ve turned down a Daytona panda dial and nautilus in past month at MRSP. Go try flipping one of those watches today for a decent profit. Grey dealers are sitting on inventory they bough early 2022 they would need to sell at a big loss. The luxury watch market has been falling for nearly 12 months. Just cause you can’t see them in the window covers up the illusion what’s in the safe that were placed infront of me in last month. Luxury watch sector was my point not cars.

Can you explain the issue in the credit suisse deal that’s affecting the financial sector in respect of bonds and why that’s affecting uncertainty around Deutsche bank today. Do we agree if the financial sector has concerns then the wider markets follow it down too. Doom and gloom I’m not mr, just basics of how markets work really which is lacking for some here!

I sold at target prices as luck finds the top or the bottom in most any stock. I’m not greedy in that respect.

Just so we’re clear under stand the terms of the deal in the credit suisse bail out as regards bonds and why that pulling down banks and wider markets. Deutsche bank are incurring higher costs insuring bonds from default as a result. If the financial sector is down the wider market follows.

I suggest both of you read a little more about what’s going on in the financial sector/wider markets and why the markets are down today. Deutsche caused the sell off in European stocks today as I said earlier. Your way too emotionally involved in RR for your own good IMO GL

Some people don’t like the truth! Had you sold at 150p like most serious investors who weren’t greedy you’d be loading up at a cheaper price today or even Monday. Some people are just blinkered to the truth, or it hurts :)

Watch market falling like a brick, people I know turning down Rolex watches from authorised dealers at MRSP while they exhausting their lists and grey dealers sitting on stock they over payed on in early 2022 before the luxury watch market burst. Luxury watch market was a bad example as most luxury brands struggle when cash supply is tight. Go and try selling a Rolex, AP or PP these days and see what offers you get. A watch is not an investment it’s to be worn and enjoyed !

Banking sector down in UK and across Europe again today so still needs further stabilisation and to regain some of its loses. Whilst those stocks remain depressed and falling it will pull the wider markets down. Let’s be clear here listening to the US and UK central bank governors neither was really clear about where it’s heading or the risks. Very ambiguous comments clutching at any piece of positive news they can grasp hold of. Every time they raise interest rates the risk of breaking something becomes bigger. Terms of the credit suisse deal didn’t help the bonds market so uncertainty knocking onto the banks.

BOE says the uk will avoid a ‘technical recession’ but that doesn’t mean we won’t experience a recession.

Those interest rates will get priced in but there’ll not be another central bank interest rate meeting till early May.

Credit Suisse deal had certain provisions around bonds (AT1) and how these would be dealt with hence falls early Wednesday opening. ECB/EU moved quickly to counter they wouldn’t deal with that situation if dealing with another similar situation. Shares rose Wednesday on back of that intervention :)

There you go the US bank raised rate another 0.25%, can’t see UK going 0% now. Will listen to his speech after the meeting.

The ECB backed themselves into the corner on that rate hike weeks before the financial system issues and signalled such to the markets so suddenly dropping to zero or 0.25% at that time would have spooked the markets while banks where falling.

I’d be surprised to see either central bank hold rates (pause) or go over 0.25% given the situation. BOE has the more difficult choice, US is a maybe. The rate rise is a somewhat side issue to what both governors say as meeting ends as these indicate they’re thoughts on the situation going forwards.

I chose not to gamble on this decision as it’s a tricky one for both central banks and could go either way or the markets read it wrong. I can buy in higher or lower once the decisions are priced in :)

That’s why the ECB had to raise interest rates by 0.5% as they’d signalled that in the weeks running up to their rate rise. Anything less could have be seen as weakness in the financial sector if they’d back tracked and gone lower. There’s more pressure on the BOE than the US after those figures this morning as they need to signal to the markets they intend to get inflation under control as Sunack staked his reputation on halving current inflation. The clues always come in what they have to say at the meetings end and as such how the markets react. I wouldn’t wager on this one so took profit yesterday!

Inflation is still up so BOE have a tricky situation tomorrow. US have the same issue as the next interest rate decision after this one isn’t due till May 2023. Both have to consider the current financial issues in banking sector and affects of how the Ukrainian war proceeds through April. There’s US inflation data coming in the US too. Head tells me 0.25% or lower but I’d not wager on anything at this time as the situation is tricky. I’m more interested in what both governors have to say after these meetings.

Not expecting much in terms of the rate rises this week. It’s always what is said by those concerned at the end of these meetings that tends to affect the markets. Opec+ can’t do much until the April meeting to affect the oil price :)

Once the banks stabilised and recovered some loses then the wider market was always going to retrace. Tomorrow is another day but I don’t see how the US or UK central banks go above 0.25% given the unknowns on the financial markets as they stand. Just sold trade to bank a nice bounce back up at my target price :)
