I am not too concerned by this. Some years ago SCIN was swallowed up by JGGI and that was full of out of favour shares and underperformed for years. This has gone from strength to strength since then.

Years ago I had John Laing infrastructure that got taken over out of the blue. Lets hope for a bid here and put us out of our misery.

Up to their old tricks again, 1.42 Million shares issued out of treasury for the boys. About 2 months worth of buybacks.

I can't see it happening now - I would like to see it mind as I think this is going too cheap.

Part of me also just wants the 1110p now and put the whole sorry mess in the past.

For all the positive vibes around shell this year on year has been poor at -6% and 18% down from it's april high. Dividends are not returned to pre covid levels either.

Probably going to get cheaper looking at things tonight. I’m in my mid 40’s now and I am starting to think I may not live long enough to see some of this dross recover to what I even paid for it. God what a nightmare. Happy Christmas!

Inflation and wages are on the up! No hope of a cut anytime soon.

Is there any bottom for this dog turd ? God what a nightmare this has turned into. Is there any hope for a turnaround ?. Investing is for the long term we are told, been here over 10 years and now worth less than then.

Let's hope it starts performing. I wish I had just put what I invested here into JGGI instead which I also own.

I feel a lot of these UK market trusts nowadays are becoming pointless, with ETF's taking over. These old school managers and all their hangers on need to make it look like they are doing something to appease shareholders fed up with poor performance and historically massive discounts. If the whole thing got wound up tomorrow and I got my 125p per share I would be ecstatic, but like most I am unwilling to sell at such a poor market value - something has to change soon.

I can’t see this ever recovering, it’s just dead money if you are underwater like me. One way would be sell all assets and return full nav to shareholders, but never going to happen.

Agree about broker ratings, look at Pru with ratings 2 or 3 times higher than what the shares are trading at!

God this share is like a slow death. Just get to 0p delist and be done with it - I just don’t care anymore!

I am surprised the shares are not trading near 1110p as it is what you are going to get by default. Dosen't look like much chance this isn't going to happen now.

Next dividend will be 1.380335p so 7.38p for the year, a smidge up on last (7.37p).

The next Q3 trading update is scheduled for 28th October according to the website. Hopefully good news then.

Just noticed intraday high a shade under $100 according to yahoo finance. Wish to God I sold all my PRU at the demerger and invested the lot here at $25. nevermind.

Governments like doing easy things, like passing new legislation tightening existing rules etc. It makes them look like they are trying to do something. Someone else has to carry out the implementation of the laws they create. Like banning zombie type knives, they have no purpose but it’s easy to do so they do it. Will crimminals care about the law? Of course not. Much easier to tackle the object than the real causes of how people behave.
