And wanted to say something here. I've recently re-done my kitchen. I've bought all my appliances from AO and they have been outstanding with service. I've had to return a few items purely my fault for not taking everything in to account when installing etc, and they've been wonderful each and every time. I live in SW London, and they are constantly delivering appliances around where I live. I came on here today thinking I would buy some shares to show some support, and am astounded to see suggestions that AO are doing so badly allegedly. I can't see how that can be, because as I say, they are constantly delivering where I live, as there are flats close by to where I am, and they are constantly delivering there, so I cannot imagine they are risking admin or anything of the like. Will buy a few shares to show solidarity here.

You have to remember that Sunak's time is limited anyway, so he'll go rogue if he wants to, he has nothing to lose, they've been lining Hunt up for PM for a while, Hunt will not go rogue, too much at stake for him! imo.

I beg to differ, I don't think he will care one jot in breaking any rules, and effectively as someone has already stated, it's an in situ policy decision so nothing new, so imagine the vote wins if he announces he has put the Great back in to Great Britain by announcing RR as a winner! I honestly put nothing past the Tories, don't discount it, they've all gone rogue in recent years, but you are right to mention Boris, he too didn't care for the rules either!!!!

The guy doesn't follow the rules, he goes rogue, and he'll do anything no doubt to stay in as PM.

I posted this back at the beginning of May. The decision will be later this year on the successful bidders, but who is to say they won't now bring this forward, bearing in mind the Tories have called the election and this is their baby?

"We have also announced that the six companies in our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Technology Selection Process can now access tender documentation, allowing them to bid for potentially multi-billion-pound technology development contracts. The technology vendors in the process are EDF Energy, GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy International LLC, Holtec Britain Limited, NuScale Power, Rolls-Royce SMR and Westinghouse Electric Company UK Limited. These vendors will now have until June 2024 to submit their tender responses. We will then assess these responses, aiming to announce the successful bidders later in 2024. Successful bidders’ technologies will be allocated to sites and incorporated into projects, and bidders will receive funding to develop their technology.

The timeline we are on is hugely ambitious, and it is the fastest that has been done in the market to date globally. It is aimed not just at speed, but to deliver a robust and successful procurement process that delivers value for the taxpayer."
