we were never going to get a decision until the next election - UNESCO was just another delaying tactic. So today's news is still good - this government have been appalling for the Swedes - one of the worst in dealing with Covid and incapable of making a decision to save their lives. good riddance hopefully.

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Sweden's parliament voted to oust Prime Minister Stefan Lofven in a no-confidence motion on Monday, giving the Social Democrat leader a week to either resign and hand the speaker the job of finding a new government, or call a snap election.

The nationalist Sweden Democrats had seized the chance to call the vote last week after the formerly communist Left Party withdrew its support for centre-left government over a plan to ease rent controls for new-build apartments.

Lofven's shaky minority coalition with the Green Party has relied on support in parliament from two small centre-right parties and the Left Party since a tight election in 2018.

With parliament deadlocked, it is not clear to whom the speaker could turn to form a new administration, while opinion polls suggest the centre-left and centre-right blocs are evenly balanced, meaning an snap election might not bring clarity.

A new government - or a caretaker regime - would only sit until a general election scheduled for September next year. It is the first time a Swedish prime minister has ever been ousted by a no-confidence motion put forward by the opposition.

reality check? do you seriously think you have funded this company by buying some shares off someone else?

99% of the shareholders of this company bought their shares second hand - ie our investments don't give the company any money - only the original investors and those taking part in placements actually invested in the company and gave the company money. "we" didn't build up this company.

we have nothing to fear from a "no". The problem is the Gov't's deliberate refusal to make a decision - if they made it we could be in court in 3 months and get any decision overturned - they know it (look at some of the previous judgements - v anti sami and pro mining from the courts).

The reality is that we have been waiting for a new government - not long now - this shower of sh*t will be kicked out - they barely have a majority and they have been a disaster for Sweden.
