True story, when I was a bit younger (slightly) I worked as a mudlogger on oil rigs so I knew when an oil company found oil as I saw it in the samples. But at the time I was too stupid to know that I could buy shares in those companies and do a bit of inside trading.

So the moral of the story is not everyone with sight of useful information would have access to or the funds to do a bit of inside trading.

I'd be all over it like a rash now as I'm sure the senior more worldly wise operators were at the time :)
