So weve moved up to the AIM 100. Can we expect a rise in investor interest and thus sp or will things just carry on as they already are?
Just over 7p I'd say.
The US has the added disadvantage of a ravenous army of shorters...
The SP has risen too quickly, and always does in these situations. If you have followed the company since around Feb, you will see that on the release of news there is a huge, sudden increase, then a quick and severe fall. I've learned to use these spikes to take profit then buy back in later; I feel sorry for people buying into these rises and getting caught.
I don't believe the rises have anything to do with the actual relevance of the news. It just seems like each bit of news is a pump and dump opportunity, or perhaps people are just seeing the % rise and jumping in without doing research then panicking when the sp begins falling again.
What I feel we really need as a shareholders is a look at the financial position of the company via a trading update or failing that, at a later date, the results for H1 2019. There were some promising developments with the fundraise, the CMS involvement and the grant from the Spanish government, the benefits of which we have not yet seen come to fruition.
All IMHO - DYOR
I have made a lot from this stock over the last few months, it's just been a real pain in the neck in the process. I probably will keep my hand but with a reduced position; there's no company I'm more familiar with than this one.
I still don't like that we're being kept in the dark about the covenant test outcome. Hopefully they'll reveal all next week for better or worse.
I think on the next significant spike (if there is one) I'm going to get out for good...
I guess we just ride this back down to 5p and sit and wait for the next spike. I'm just glad I managed to profit from selling a 3rd of my holding.
I was looking forward to this afternoon and its all going downhill...
I'm waiting for the last few hours of trading to see what happens before I take profit. Let's hope it's the right decision...
Hopefully the the trading update at the end of the month (if there is one, that is; there seemed to be one around that time last year) should shed some light on the financial situation (and even more hopefully, it will be positive).
A slightly disappointing day given the news; it's spiked up a lot more dramatically in the past, but hopefully it's put a stop to the gradual downward slope we were on.
I'm more surprised by the number of sells...
Oops I meant h1...
I guess no one who went is on this bb. I can only take the fact that all resolutions were passed as a sign of shareholder confidence. Still, some proper good news before the end of H2 would be most welcome. Mtph has been too quiet recently.
Is the stress test on the 30th an estimate GFD or is it definite? If so the board really are taking it down to the wire with these negotiations. An 18pps bid from Seafox wouldn’t be ideal but it’ll allow me to get out of this disappointment of a stock with minor cuts and bruises...
Is Mr. Woodford holding gms at all?
I personally would like to see the financial benefits of the CMS deal come to fruition, specifically with regards to the 'regulatory and sales-based milestone payments as well as royalty payments'. I'm unsure of the amount and frequency of such payments and if they will be a significant contribution to Midatech's finances.
At least until the autosells kick in and bring it back down...
I'm starting to believe the 'two years packed with news flow' the media promised us is a bit of an exagguration... Aside from the Nasdaq notification and the Turner Pope evening (both fairly irrelevant), we've had nothing.
According to their twitter they attended a biotech convention in the states to '...talk about MTD201 and progress licence options.' I've researched the convention and it seems a way for companies to attract investment or partnership. I don't know what kind of time frame we would be looking at for news regarding the outcome of this venture (if any) but I hope they will have got some positive result.
