Someone wanted some cheap stock. Carling yes a good opportunity to pick up cheap stock as one day this will be much higher.

But, even so, one would think that at current levels, say 8p, this is a put it in the tin job. Separately (in a sense) I mention that, as I listen daily to the tales of woe from UK banking in practice, I rage (internally of course) that such an incompetent bunch of grasping bozos are in effect given an exclusive licence to take deposits from the public and, let us not forget, the BoE at 0.5% and are then free to shaft the rest of us at any rate you care to dream up. 25p offer won't be around for much longer.

The rise on Friday was more associated with the potential of STY winning the contracts at John Lewis. 50 stores at say £XXM will transform this back to where it should be instead on 25p! I think this is one of the better stocks to hold as it is diversified in the retail sector.

Looking at the figures, a recent fund raising means it has cash so unlikely to go bust - and if it starts to make contract announcements there could be some lovely upside. Initial target is 30, but if things look better and it goes through that, I'd hold for more. Downside looks limited for now. So I picked up 20,000 shares earlyish today at 23p. Target (initial) 30 stop 20. Might be the last chance at 25p as bid is catching up.
