Styles & Wood to makeover Chester Woolworths for Primark
By Michael Fahy
Altrincham-based shopfitter Styles & Wood has kicked-off work on the UK's latest Primark store.
The firm is remodelling the former Woolworths site in Chester over a 16-week period to create a new 47,000 sq ft store over three storeys. It is set to open in May 2010.
The store is the 20th major contract to be carried out for Primark. Styles & Wood will act as the main contractor, with 12 subcontractors also involved in the project.
“This project is part of a strong and continued relationship between ourselves and the clothing retailer, which is creating a comprehensive network of record-breaking stores – in fact, some of the largest clothing outlets in the world,” said Styles & Wood's director for construction services, Andy Shaw.
