A new day rises at Greatland Gold with the appointment of a new chief executive, Shaun Day, who will replace Gervaise Heddle in the role.

Day has filled various leadership positions across mining and infrastructure during the past 20 years, having served as chief financial officer for companies including Northern Star Resources, Sakari Resources, PTT Company, Straits Resources (now Aeris Resources) and Amcom Telecom.

He said he was joining Greatland at an exciting time for the business as it advanced the Havieron project in Western Australia.

“(The year of) 2021 is set to be an exciting year for Greatland as we embark on multiple exploration campaigns in the Paterson province,” Day said.

“Greatland will continue to progress its core strategy, advancing Havieron, while pursuing value from our other exploration targets with Tier 1 potential.

“Beyond this, I intend to apply my experience from growing major mining companies to oversee the development of Havieron and to scale-up the wider business.”

Heddle will remain on the Greatland Gold board until March 12 to ensure Day’s smooth transition into the position.

Yes! Basically, that says it in one! I've been acting accordingly for some time now under this crazy volatility! TT

@ MrPartridge I have no issue whatsoever with your strategy, but we all have our own strategies, based on many investment & life issues. I bought my first GGP shares at 0.65p, so, unlike you, I've taken a potential profit view, over actual. IMHO. it's all about faith in a particular company, with a great deal of RESEARCH, as well as basic things like understanding the people that run the company, not a view that I'd wish to take profits at any particular point based on anything else.

Fine, and good luck if you can match that. If it does, then clearly, more than ever, the market just hasn't a clue!

@ napthman1 Well done too! As you know, the odd few percentage points mean very little to the LTH when we see these, frankly, ridiculous sp movements, which, IMHO, are a clear opportunity to buy, which also increasingly, in the case of GGP now, is based on fundamentals! Good luck all!

Exactly! Of course it doesn't! Just look at the fundamentals! As a septuagenarian I've seen it all before for decades now.

IMHO, if you want to invest in GGP, medium/long term, this is a giveaway sp time!

IMHO, I just cannot fathom what you're talking about?? In what way, whatsoever, could anything to do with this recent drop in the sp be due to the company actions and/or strategy?! Please let us know.

Let's be quite straight here. The GGP sp is now clearly underpinned by Havieron, increasingly becoming, with EVERY drill assay to date, probably a once in a generation mother lode, maybe more!

As SD clearly stated today, with regards to Havieron, "We both (GH & SD) value the relationship...Newcrest are a world class partner...that de-risks the project for Greatland Gold and it's shareholders, both in terms of understanding risks, managing those risks, the costs, but of course being able to peer back (?) that existing Telfer infrastructure is a tremendous advantage." TT

AS a LTH, despite being pretty much overbought in GGP, I couldn't resist, and I topped up, for the first time in around 2 years, 'last time', just above GH, @ 24p. I have another limit buy in @ 23.25p. IMHO, it's nothing less than a giveaway at those sort of levels and totally oversold.

Regarding the Newcrest Mining relationship and Havieron:

Let's be quite straight here. IMHO, the institution/fund investments in GGP stock are based almost entirely on the Havieron results and the increasingly market view that it will be a once in a generation mother lode. maybe even more.

On top of that, the chances of finding another one, or more, significant mineralisation finds in the Paterson region are very good.

On top of that, Gervaise Heddle had the balls to appreciate that, and dig DEEP! He proved it at Havieron.

IMHO, that's where Greatland Gold will find the next mother lode!

Long term I have absolutely no worries whatsoever going forwards. If you can't stand the heat of volatility in investment here then get out of the kitchen!

As always, my personal view entirely, nothing more, nothing less!
